Backed the jeep out of the garage and in 3/8 of a mile temp gauge registered 120. Wish it would warm up that quick in January!! We hit 100 actual temp today.

In Tempe, AZ... My High temp is literally 107 degrees. My Low temp tonight is 87 degrees. Our ultimate high temp so far this summer was 118 degrees. I'm not sure what the word "humidity" means... |

I waited until it dropped to 99 before I went on my typical Thursday night 35 mile bike ride. I skipped the big ass hillclimb that's at the 1/2way point. Thought I was going to pass out at the bottom.

| I could care less about the calendar crap! But we do have a planetary alignment coming up. With the we will see increased so or flairs from the sun. So we will see some temps rise because of that a little. If you look at the past 12 months just here in the US it's just crazy! We have never seen the kind of weather we are seeing right now. I've lived in the south my whole life. We are used to heat and humidity! But this is just crazy between last summer and this one! Hell, we had 4-5" of snow this past winter! That is unheard of here!!! The power of the storms we have been having are insane as well! I'm on the Disaster Action Team for the Red Cross. I'm seeing more and more weather that I've never seen here in the south! Mother nature is pissed off for sure, I know that much. I think we are only starting to see what is in store for us in the coming years...... (And no I don't buy into the end of the world crap for 2012! But I wouldn't mind people getting out of hand and me and my friends getting to use some of this ammo we have piled up!) |

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/El_nino The oceans around here have been quite warm and Texas has had multiple fish killings recently due to the Red Tide. Warm Oceans will not only affect the type of weather, but make storms stronger and cause them to last longer. The number of Pacific hurricanes this year has been amazing. I wonder if the temp of that ocean has been rising...

| IIRC we've only been recording the weather officially for a hundred years or so. Before that it was a casual thing and not entirely scientific. When they say "worst heat/cold/etc in recorded history", they aren't going back that far.
