Actually, there is.
We've always had ratings here in NE where the "actual" temp, would vary from the "wind chill factor". The wind isn't a constant, like the actual temperature.
Due to humidity, stagnate air or wind, the "feeling" of the temperature can be different.

"Wind Chill" is only a factor for things that radiate heat. So, it does not affect a thermometer.

Typically, humidity is lower when the temperature is cooler (at least around here it is).

Both wind chill and heat index are different from the actual temperature...effects that cant be determined by a thermometer. Trust me, when the sweat does not evaporate from your body, it makes it feel hotter. Just like when it is cold, but when the wind blows, it feels colder...

Then the fan would be helping your body cool...which would reduce the "feels like" temp...

I don't need to, it was 95 here today and it just rained with big gusty winds of cooler air. Weather.com says 43202 is now at 76 degrees and it feels like 76. Where'd my heat index go? What about this crazy 100% humidity? No one cares when it's not super hot.

And my the thermometer says it's 79 (brick building holding heat).

I'm in Ohio, I know what humidity and wind chill are.

There's a difference between when it rains and humidity. Around here we hit 80-100% humidity on a regular basis. Usually it is worse in the mornings and then it burns off in the afternoon. I'd rather be out in the afternoons when it is 100* and the humidity is less, than in the mornings when it is 75* and 100% humidity.

Another nice example....go into your bathroom and turn the shower on full blast hot for 20 minutes and sit there....then walk out the door. Are the temps the same? Yep (thermostat is regulating that). Does it feel hotter in the bathroom? Hell yes it does...

it hit 108* before heat index in Baltimore today, it was a humid day as well. The only thing keeping me from passing out at work was the 'dew rag' that I had wrapped on my head that I kept drenched w/ water all day long. Tomorrow is supposed to be even nastier and I just got the call that I have to work tomorrow.

That's my pre shower poopin routine.

I've turned on my shower full hot, and put the thermostat and this little humidity gauge I have in there also. I would gather the full hot water will change the temperature of the air, and the thermostat will indicate this. My full hot version of water is tolerable to stand in without any cold water needed.

I will let it max out, then pull the gauges out into the room I'm in.

Turn your thermostat up to the same max temp of the shower room...let them level out. Then sit in one room for a while....then the other. See which one feels best. My guess is outside the bathroom...

haha i think it just turned..got pretty warm and muggy in the last hour or 2..gonna hit 80 tommorow..things are supposed to heat up from here on in back east they have been haveing a heat wave..one place was 51 or around 123 with the humidity..whew glad im not there

I know what I need to do, since I've maxxed out in temps/humidity in the bathroom.

Compare when it's just about exactly 90 outside and no rain to what it feels like in the bathroom with full blast hot water. Right now, when I open the door and hang there for a few, it feels the same as a hot ass 90 degree day. I need to temperature match, or its bogus. Objective testing!

Pulled the gauges out, and both are falling rapidly. Back down to 78 degrees and 75% humid ness.

cold air cannot hold ther same water as hot/warm because water will condence in the cool..it will stick to what is cooler
