Crawler mounted on MTN Bike? anyone fabbed one up?

Was thinkin I might go Mountain Biking again but I want to haul my Scalier incase there is any good spots to crawl. Has anyone made a home made mount for their bike? Would like some ideas before I build mine. I ride a 98 Specialized hard tail ( Great Bike ) so a mount should not be all the hard to do...but Somebody always has a better idea.

If you go to bikehacks.com there's all kinds of homemade racks. My favorite ones are the old skateboard decks that people are using on their rat bikes.
