today i bought the truck i need for this build. its a 76 3\4 ton 4x4 with a 3 inch lift. its really hurting but its got hope. The whole body is coming off and i will do frame inspection. i looked over it good and i couldn't see any cracks or bends. the rear leaf mount has rusted threw so i hope the frame isn't. specs on the truck.... 44\14 4speed np205 FY no motor. the tuck is nothing special, i got a 14 bolt with a detroit locker and disk breaks when i get that finished it will go in this. i would like to put a dana60 in it but no $ for that. What im hoping to accomplish chop the box a foot in the back shackle flip 4 to 6 inch lift? 38 inch somthins rear 14 bolt Detroit locker\disk breaks interior cage 2 or 3 stick tcase. i might get to confused with 3 lmao The tank 14bolt ff the truck before i got this pos the cab was swapped out with a 2wd so there is gaping holes for the trans-tcase and its very rotten. the whole frame painted a ugly yellow, only god knows why. |

The "yellowing" of the frame is most likely from Clay driving OR pesticides. (such is the life of some farm trucks or forestry rigs) depends on the region as well as age I'd expect and what was being used. Lost of moisture and "things" that are in the chemicals will do that. Clay traps moisture well and sticks like crazy, letting what ever's in it to leach into the metal. I'd say it wasn't well cared for and it's only under washing was from the rain puddles. Decent drive train tho. |

oh i never new that. thats good to know. im not sure what it was used for originally but like i said its a bit of a hack job, he failed at mounting a 2wd cab on it. ( i did it but it looks good lol.) the trans tunnel is shorter on the 2wd so i had to put a 3 inch body lift. just wait to see what happens to this one |

Wow, you sure do have your work cut out for you. I've been known to do that too, buy a "good truck" that only needs "everything". Like this junk Toyota pickup I've been driving for years that only cost $330, and then took 3K in parts to make decent. |

dana 60's should have 10 bolts, not 14.... that'd be a 14 bolt. |

Front end is pulled, not going to worry about the back since i got the Detroit locker to go in there. The weak 44 is staying since i cant afford one at the time. iv got the adapter for the trans/tcase just got to wait till august 28th i think to guet it. What ever i don't need it right away. im trying to do the 205 twin stick but im no sure about when you punch the frost plug out, what do you do with the pins? doner frame the muncie sm465 the rear end thats going in it |
