If you think that's bad...

We sized up fixtures and stuff for our daughter's bathroom.

We decided to go with Victorian style fixutres and such. Freakin' 200+ for the sink faucet, then another 200 for the bath.

We've found a vanity we like, as well as sink.

Then there's the do-dads like TP hold, towel racks, etc...

We figured it'd be a grand to finish the bathroom not counting paint.

Then I have the wonderful task of tackling the kitchen, which will get the same flooring we put in Megan's bathroom, plus new cabinets, counter top, and appliances. I figure the kitchen will run around 10 grand (with appliances) to remodel, and much of that is doing it myself. :(

I figure I'll go one step at a time with the kitchen, though

As much as I want to spend money where I'm living... I think my next home will be built by myself on a 10 acre lot at 8,000' Then I don't have to worry about cheap floors and walls! (They'll be really expensive! )

Unless you build the house yourself you'll still have to worry about cheapness.

Houses today aren't built to last, they're built for money.

My mom owns a house from the late 1800's and the hardwood floors in it don't even squeak, the walls are actually square, and it's a SOLID house. It was built to last.

Today it's all about the buck. :(

I will in the least play a vital role in construction

Tell me about it :( I am bummed with this manufactured home. Its not bad, but Its not that great, fortunately they will fix all the stuff that is wrong with it.

I'd love to find an 1800 year old house in great shape!

That means it'd have been built in 204A.D.

Would still be cool.

Dave, you should come over to my house this weekend.

Tonight I ripped out the old vanity, sink, mirror, toilet, door frames, everything.

Spent a good bit of tonight making the drywall perfect so I can get it painted Friday.

I'll probably spend Saturday installing all the new stuff.

So yeah, get over here and get some practice!

BTW, that tile hasn't cracked. Installing it on concrete is the trick.

Jason, when you and Dave get finished at your house run on up to mine and help me! I've spent my Christmas vacation pulling up linoleum and replacing water damaged rotten 5/8" underlayment. FINALLY started laying down Pergo this morning. That's going well, should look nice when/if I get finished.

If you wanna buy tickets, house and feed me, I'd be happy to fly over

In the mean time, I'll sit here and enjoy my snow :P
