Default Pergo or other pergo type flooring...anyone used it?

I just did our daughter's bathroom with porcelain tile from http://www.edgeflooring.com This stuff is killer.

I did her bathroom in one night. Started at 6, was basically done at 10. The following day, after the grout dried, I re-installed the toilet.

Total cost was $200, and considering what the floor looked like previously, it was well worth it.

The bad thing is that my wife saw how easy it was, and how quick I did it....she wants to do the kitchen and our bathroom with similiar stuff.

Just what I need, more projects.

Anyway, here's a pic...I still need to put new 1/4 round down, but I'm not going to do that until I repaint the walls and put a new vanity and sink in. I'll probably put down new base molding as well.

Yeah, since I'm a midget, I need the little step to reach the sink. :(

Dave, Lowe's is the only place that carries the Edge flooring stuff.

Somehow it's exclusive to them. :? I wonder if it's a "house brand"?

Either way, it has a 20 year warranty!

That sucks.

According to the details on www.lowes.com, you can't have it delivered by UPS either.

Maybe Fed Ex? Too bad.. Oh well, Phoenix is a pretty normal drive around here. If you want to do anything big, you get to go to Phoenix... Bout 2 hours. More now that they lowered the speed limit

Pergo..yes. Ive installed it. Its pretty in bathrooms and kitchens, but keep it at that. We installed it in my inlaws liveing room, the echo just kills. With small kids that love to yell and throw things times that by 20 . But it is super easy to install. Just never in my house.

BTW nice job.

I know exactly what you're talking about with that echo. The military housing in Hawaii was all tile (the cheap commercial crap) on top of concrete. The whole house was one large echo chamber.

My wife wanted the Edge flooring in our bathroom. I did some research on it, and EVERYONE on the home improvement websites who put it in had problems with it cracking shortly after they installed it. I hope it works out for you, I'll be curious to hear how it holds up.

The tiles. For example, some people put it in thier kitchen, and as soon as they rolled the refridgerator back into the room the tiles cracked. Others just cracked from walking on it. Most people had extreme difficulty getting Lowes to take returns or do anything about the problems.

I googled this last night.

I found out that people that were having problems had installed the tiles on plywood subfloors!

Duh! Subfloors flex...tile doesn't. Of course it'll crack.

My house is built on a concrete pad so I'm not worried too about it. Our junk has been in for almost a week and nothing has cracked...I even dropped the drill on it by accident.

BUT...it's a good thing we did the small room first!

We'll see how it goes.

It's been about two weeks that it's been down, no problems with cracking.

I think the trick is to install it on a concrete floor instead of underlayment.

Yup. Pergo would be a better solution.

Wife and I spent a few hours today looking at vanities, fixtures, and other stuff for the bathroom.

Sometime after the holidays I'll rip out the old stuff, repaint, install a new vanity/sink/faucet, and such.

I just brought home 180 sq/ft of Pergo to do our kitchen.... $750 worth 8O It's going down on a wood floor/subfloor. Laying down the laminate flooring looks pretty easy, it's repairing the water damaged subfloor that'll be the bitch.

Ooooh, fun!

Jason; I'm thinking pergo would be a better thing to perk up the rooms here. Damn manufactured homes!
