^^Nice, I want to get my reloading stuff setup one of these days myself. Picked up a SAP sling from Short Action Precision. |

Got some time at the range with the Ruger and new Savage. Here is the second to last group of Hornady Match 120 gr CM. Pretty good. The gun only has about 85 rounds through and it looks like it is going to be a shooter. I am still getting used to the stock. It's not nearly as nice as my Ruger but nobody makes a drop in for the Desert Tactical yet. On to the pics: Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr |

I also think I have a solution for my .243 WIN 1000 yard project. This is the best group of a ladder test using the following: Hornady ELD-X 103 grain bullets 40.4 grains of IMR 4451 COL of 2.765 Should be going right around 3000 FPS according to IMR. I will get speed on them next time I'm out at the range. That will put me at a hair over 1500 FPS at 1000 and only a 25 MOA drop. Back from page 2! I wasn't comfortable with the Savage Accustock so I looked around and found this jewel. Should be much better. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr I've got 2 boxes of Hornady match ammo so now to find some range time! |

^^That looks fantastic! What chassis is that? This is all from the past few weeks, just haven't updated. I was having some FTE issues in the 10/22 last time out, and it dawned on me that my extractor and ejector were both 20+ years old. So I picked up a Volquartsen exact edge extractor, and a new wire cut ejector from EDM Defense. I also picked up a Sig Kilo 1200 range finder And a new range bag from Red Rock Outdoor Gear. This is one of those things you don't realize you really needed until you've bought it. I love this thing!! And my stamp came back last week, so I've spent the week getting my form 1 .22lr can (and my first can!) completed. Nine 60deg baffles bored and symmetrically clipped, 1" x 6" size. Can't wait to test it out this weekend. Last edited by hpiguy; 08-14-2019 at 08:44 PM. |

I took the new can out for it's maiden voyage today. I'm very happy with the results personally. Ammo is Aguila SuperExtra 22 Long Rifle Ammo 40 Grain Standard Velocity Solid Point, steel is at 100yds. I also learned about suppressor fouling today since it's my first can. And with .22lr being notoriously dirty ammo, combined with my old methods of lubing my guns, the 10/22 and mags were dirty to the point of being inoperable after about 300rds or so suppressed. But, I've found some new lubes that are supposed to combat that issue, along with extra mags to fix the sludge (literally LOL) in the one single mag I have issue. We'll see how it goes next time out. 10/22 Walther P22 Last edited by hpiguy; 08-17-2019 at 10:49 PM. |

That was sweet. Were those subsonic rounds? I know to cycle the semi auto stuff they almost always have to be supersonic. I got some range time today and after settling down and getting used to the chassis I shot this with some Hornady 147 grain stuff: Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr I had a few close ones where I choked on the last round too: Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr I think I just need some more practice. I'm going to try to replicate the Hornady 147 grain match reloading and see if I can tighten it up even more. |

Yeah, the Aguila is just barely subsonic. With supers you can't even tell the can is there on the rifle, at least from my point of view with no db meter. Those are all good groups, but that first one is money!

I picked up some new dry lubes to try out, along with spare mags to help prevent the suppressor sludge issue. Also picked up a 10/22 mag maintenance kit for the 10/22 mags from TK. And, I’ve wanted a MK IV 22/45 since they released them. Now that I'm shooting suppressed, I wanted one even more. I had a MK III for quite a while, but the take down procedure sucked, and if you shoot suppressed you'll be cleaning them often. The LGS has had one sitting for a little while, so they made me a great deal, and gave me a great trade in value on a gun that I personally despised. I actually wanted the lite, but couldn’t say no to the deal. I have Volquartsen trigger parts inbound (stock trigger is terrible on what I would consider a target gun) and I can’t wait to shoot it! |

I like One Shot myself for cleaning. I'm not sold on its lube abilities though.

Well that sucks, as I had no use for it as a cleaner. I have other products for that. If the lube qualities suck, then I guess it'll go in the range bag as a quick at the range cleaner.

At least 3 years since i sent a little lead downrange. This is 16 shots from 50 M, 8 from bipod on a rickety camping table with a pice on wood on top of it, and 8 shots standing from a shooting stick. Gun FX cyclone .22 CAL, optic Hawke 6-24 X, light crosswind from the left, but nothing i can blame more than 5 - 10 mm on at best. |

Its okay, but the new stuff i would give my left nutt for a dreamline tactical. Much more options to dial in in regard to pressures / FPS, and weather you will shoot slugs or pellets. Swap barrel / caliber and settings in minutes, so you can go from having been shooting .177 in the yard with the kids in the morning, throw on a .25 or .30 barrel ,adjust your regulator pressure, and maybe hammer spring, and you are ready to go to the range in the afternoon and do some longer range stuff, or maybe go shoot some smaller animals. Yeah, I just prefer the gorgeous traditional wood models though. One of these days I'll own a high end PCP airgun.
