I had one of those Rugers back in the day, had a can for it too, but not as sleek as that. Was popular as .22 Ammo are easy to find on the black market here, and some "kids" that i assume have seen some movie, thought that having one made them a bad ass assassin. And i assume the Rugers that made it into the black market also came from brake ins in shooting clubs. Its not a Walter GSP for sure, but okay for people to get a feel for pistol shooting i assume, i shot 15 and 50 M in rifle the biggest shooting club in town as a kid, but never saw anything but rifles there. |

It also doesn't have the price tag of a GSP either. The Ruger MK series have always been great guns, and the platform has been around a long time. They're a great way not just to introduce people to shooting, but for plinking and target shooting for experienced shooters also. Burning through 9mm gets expensive, fairly decent .22lr ammo is around $.04rd here.

Holy shit soda blasting my baffles is so much easier for cleaning! Worth every penny of the compressor (which will be used for other stuff too) and media gun purchase. |

I picked up a case of Aguila Super Extra standard velocity 40gr after tying a brick of it. This stuff shot OK before getting my can, but with the can it shoots better than anything I’ve tried yet in both my 10/22 and my MK IV. And it's super cheap by the case. |

Picked this up the other day with the copious amounts of over time I have been getting. Replaced the rubber stock grips with the nice Coco Bolo grips from CZ's custom shop. It should be going the Cajun Gun Works for the pro kit (https://cajungunworks.com/product/in...ackage-426-00/) at the end of the month. Untitled by JASON MCKIMMEY, on Flickr |

A great read about ELR .22lr stuff for anyone interested. Figured I'd move it over here and not clutter up the purchase thread. https://sites.google.com/site/thelon...ire-ballistics |

"The best quality ammunition is essential for good results. Weight sorting of individual rounds will assist the control of velocity variations..." You are limited by what is being produced in the factories. I reload ammo for everything I own gun wise. This, I think, adds an additional level of satisfaction and complexity to the hobby that I really enjoy. There is something about researching loads, building ammo, testing it in your gun and finding the load that shoots lights out in it that I really enjoy. When I had my savage 22LR it was a pain just finding subsonic ammo in general. Then when all the AR bros got wind that you could convert your AR to shoot 22LR and all the 22LR ammo disappeared it was even more of a pain in the ass. When it came back it was twice the price it was before and I got turned off of it. That was when I discovered 17 HMR. I currently reload 6.5 Creedmoor, .243 Winchester and 45/70 Government. It's very rewarding and something you simply cannot do with 22LR or 17 HMR for that matter. My hat is off to you for continuing to carry the 22 LR flag. It is one I lost interest in a while ago. lol. It's the flag I can afford to carry, so I go with it. Drool worthy stuff as always man. One of these days, I'll dive into that box of reloading gear in the basement. Need to figure out where I want to call home for a while first as I'm contemplating a move.

Anyone that says you can't polish a turd obviously hasn't had my S.O.T. do any work for them. After talking to him, and verifying that my cheapo $13 solvent trap tube would hold up just fine for .22lr (don't own or shoot .17 or .22wm), he put this together for me. Even did a few touches I wasn't expecting. I'm blown away to say the least. I can't wait to run some rounds through it. Before After Complete re-core of his design, indexed baffles, new end caps, dog boned and embossed the tube, fixed the local engravers screw up, and moly resin coated. |

BTW making baffles like that ( for a silencer ) on a manual lathe & milling machine. Well it take its bloody time even for a crafty machine worker apprentice But i also asked a high price for my work back then Only lately have silencers become legal here, why i am not sure, i can only assume the ruling elite and their friends that hunt cant deal with the loud noises of their designer rifles. My .22 air rifle have always been silenced, the pellet landing make more noise than getting it going, not least after i "de-pinged" my air tank but it is of course subsonic shooting, which are more easy to deal with in terms of noise. El Jefe carrying dime bags what the hell is wrong with people these days. Last edited by Peaker; 05-14-2020 at 11:59 AM. |
