That is sure how it feels sometimes!

For a handgun to be legal for sale it California it must be on the CA safe handgun roster. The company has to pay to have it tested and send 3 units for testing and it must meet all kinds of requirements like chamber loaded indicator, magazine disconnect, and passing a drop test. They make them do this for every model including the same pistol in a different finish, completely ridiculous. The fee must be paid every year to maintain the pistols status on the roster.

Basically I had to have the pistol converted to a single shot pistol, a fixed mag sled that doesnt hold any rounds and a minimum length of 7 1/2" so a longer barrel was fitted. Once I took possession I had to leave the property and come back to request "gunsmithing work" to return it to its factory configuration.

It also means that we cant build a pistol from parts since a frame cant be considered a "safe handgun" because it cant be tested.

Also because of anti assault weapon laws we have to have our mags locked in our AR's and AK's and any other rifle with a pistol grip.

Oh and no more than 10rds in a mag.

Fun isnt it?

There are 3 things that I dont like about Cali...
  1. Gun Laws
  2. Car Laws
  3. Traffic

Other than that there isnt much not to like. I have lived in the SF area my whole life and dont plan on moving anytime soon.

There are places with worse gun laws, NYC and I think Massachusetts are very strict.

Car laws I think we have the worst, stupid C.A.R.B. makes it impossible to have anything fun.

And traffic you will find in any major metropolitan area, not much you can do to avoid it unless you live in the country.

The upside is that there are jobs and although the cost of living is much higher so are the wages if compared to the same job in another state.

To each their own...

My newest one Surgeon XL repeater action Krieger 26 inch CM tube chambered in 338 Lapua with Suerfire break (would love to mount a supressor if I didnt live in the peoples republic of Illinois) pillar and glass bedded in a Manners stock with a 6 oz trigger. saving up for a Nightforce scope.

First 5 on paper at 100yds in the center and load data. Group is under quarter inch center to center. I pulled the shot on the bottom group

550yds at the family farm group is roughly 1.5 inches wide by 3 inches high at least 9 hits with two different shooters.

Some of my favorite guns I currently own

1943 Underwood M1 Carbine - all matching #'s, no import marks

50th Anniversary Texas DPS Colt 1911. 24k gold engraving on the slide.

It's #1026 of 1200 produced in 1985. The slide hasn't been racked since it left Colt's factory.

One more

Ruger 10/22 and Remington 597 22 mag

My first AR build, LMT 10.5" pistol. Troy TRX Extreme battle rail, paracord wrapped RRA buffer tube, single point sling, Magpul MOE trigger guard, BUIS, and foregrip. and a few PMAGS. by far my favorite weapon to shoot. the muzzle blast is insane!

Got me a new knife. From 1918. It says S A on one side and US and 915003 on the other. It has provisions to be mounted on the end of a rifle.

Picked two this week..

Kimber Desert Warrior in .45ACP this thing make my Glocks look and shoot like a Hi Point. I know Kenny has something to add about that remark.

I picked up this little guy from North American Arms it is a .22 mag I also got my hands on some of the Hornady Critical Defense rounds in .22 mag

Doesn't take much (I respect Glocks, but am personally not a fan). Nice Kimber!

These are the only two out of our collection that I have (crappy) pictures of right now.

The black M15-wannbe is my airsoft toy, and does not belong here.

The green Armalite is one of my favorite to shoot out of our collection, next to the H&K P7 and Winchester M1 Carbine (late WWII/Korean vintage, and still as accurate, reliable, and fun as the Armalite).

The Mauser HSc was taken off of a SS officer by my grandfather, awesome story behind that little guy.

I'm hoping to pick up a Mossberg 590A1 and a Benchmade H&K Nitrous Blitz (or something similar) by the end of this year...

Anyone know anything about this. I had it in a tool chest for years.

The only markings are on the back of the sheath and it only says "Made in Germany"
Being in English makes me think its way post War.
