Default Monday night football

Gonna miss ole Hank Williams Jr. opening to Monday Night football!!

"BOSTON (Reuters) - ESPN pulled Hank Williams Jr.'s theme song from its "Monday Night Football" broadcast in a rebuke to the country music star for comments earlier in the day comparing President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler."

Hopefully they'll replace him with some soft core porn or something like that.
Really could care less about music before football.

His son's response is the best and likely best way to put it:

Hank Williams Jr.'s son -- Hank Williams III -- doesn't think his father should have opened his mouth about Obama yesterday ... telling TMZ most musicians are "not worthy" of a political discussion

Why do people listen to or care what entertainers say about politics? Like Bono, who the hell cares...hes not American and not in touch with reality anyhow.

"comparing President Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler"

If you read his actual comment, that is a bit of a stretch to make that statement.....

Agreed. A bit of over-zealous ass covering on ESPN's behalf if you ask me.

I do agree with Hank Jr. on this though:

"When both sides are high-fiving it on the ninth hole, when everybody else is without a job -- it just makes a whole lot of us angry."

Maybe Obama should invite Hank Jr. to the White House for a beer.

Comparing doesn't mean someone explicitly says, "I compare x to y for the purposes of this discussion." But in this case he did.

Williams told Fox News news anchors on Fox & Friends that this summer's golf summit between Obama and House Speaker John Boehner was like "Hitler playing golf with [Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu." When asked to elaborate on his analogy, Williams called Obama and Vice President Joe Biden the enemy.

Fox's Gretchen Carlson later pressed him and said, "You used the name of one of the most hated people in all of the world to describe, I think, the president." Willaims replied, "Well that's true. But I'm telling you like it is."

Gretchen Carlson is wrong.

He's not comparing Obama to Hitler, he's comparing a golf game of Republicans and Democrats with a game between Hitler and Netanyahu. A very extreme analogy, but he could have easily said "A game between Grant and Lee" and meant the same thing.

Those are his words, not hers. Sure she asked an evocative and leading question, like she is supposed to, but she did ask!

but then it would have been "racist" since it was Civil War era.

media people are such spineless pussies, that none of them have the nuts to say what they feel deep inside them. at least Hank did...

Watch the actual interview and come to your own conclusion, because after I watched it, it almost sounded like Gretchen was putting words into Hanks mouth and when he was saying that its "True" I don't think that Hank heard her ask if he was comparing the president to Hitler.

Pay close attention at the 10sec from 3:03 to 3:13 and you will see what I mean.

With all that said I still agree with HankIII.

Who cares what entertainers think when it comes to politics!

Her words were wrong, and after watching the interview I believe it's because she didn't understand the analogy.

I think the lag also had a lot to do with it as well. I think ESPN just heard the name Hitler and freaked out.

Eye-candy news anchors should keep their mouths shut IMO. They say a lot of dumb shit.
