| Re: Listening to music? Ha. At least I posted here on RCC instead. I like the hipsters because they brought vinyl back around. I've had turntables since I was ~18, which is ~18 years ago! |

Porcupine Tree is relatively new to me, maybe almost two years now, and they go way back to the late 80s. They make some great music, and have a pretty large fan base, but you don't ever really hear of them. Porcupine Tree - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia I have In Absentia, The Sky Moves Sideways, Lightbulb Sun, and The Incident in my collection. Check out some live songs on Youtube, they're good. The drummer gets a lot of praise, but more so Steve Wilson, as he's the lead guitar singer, songwriter. Steven Wilson - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia |

WOW EeePee, that stuff is fantastic. Already ordered the Arriving Somewhere live DVD after watching a few clips. Can't wait to hear it on the Nak in surround sound! Its like a continuation of Pink Floyd's Meddle, it has that vibe, but then again it is its own thing. I can't believe I've never heard of them before. |

The nice thing about them is that when you hear the live version it is as clear and precise as the studio version. These guys are just great musicians. They are clearly influenced in a huge way by pink floyd (one of my favorites). I have had them on at work (pandora) all morning, just great music. I may be developing a man crush on this band.

Glad you guys are enjoying them. Steve Wilson is a big fan of Pink Floyd, so there you go. They appeal to the audiophile community not only because of the music but also the sound quality of their recordings, so there you go again. I do find it odd that a band that's this good and has been around for so long has gone unheard of for so long by many people. That's a good trick. Man crush, ha! |

Progressive Rock is pretty much a non marketable market, as I see it. The songs are too long. Maybe? Dare you to listen: http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect....et/htg0109.mp3 |

It has nothing to do with our conversation, but some may find it interesting. I'm trying to make more people care about what they hear. Currently listening to The Hunter |
