Apple's iOS 5.0.1

Anyone else having safari crash or close on them more often than ever? I can have all other apps closed and only a single window open and I notice the key board lagging behind, of course after I typed a bunch of stuff, them boom. Crash.

I is on an iPod Touch, but I don't know if that matters really.

hm, I;m considering upgrading my sons touch to the v4 for christmas.
He has not been able to tak pics or video with his older one.

Though he wont be on the web with it much at all, its still something to consider.

Did you upgraed your software on a older device, and does that make a differance?

also, anyone know the best deals on the 8g?
best I have found is 170

Only very recently did 5.0 come out, prior to it I was on their most current OS, which was something like 4.7.973717.6 and never had a crash. Just guessing here but maybe the hardware in this little thing is in over its head. It's flawless otherwise, though honestly the camera is crap, unless you only look at the picture on the Touch. Soon as they are on the computer at full size, they're laughably grainy.

Oh that sux, I was under the interpretation the pics and vid was decent.

Its for my 11 yr old, so its not to be top notch, but still you want them clear when you load them up to the laptop.

you may have saved me some coin, my next choice is let him keep the one he has...and get him a small cam corder that takes stills also.

On my iPod I always had certain websites that would crash safari. I haven't had any new problems with the new iOS.

I agree the iPod camera is a pos. got an early Christmas present from my wife, iPhone 4s. The pictures seem pretty decent if you happen to get it in focus and hold the phone steady.

Also in my experience you would be better off with a camera that shot video, rather than a camcorder that took stills.

iPhone 3, and this has been getting horrible on mine. It usually doesn't crash or lock up, but it takes a looong time to finish whatever it's got running before I can type. Haven't noticed much while on the web, mainly 'cause I don't do that much on my phone (eyes never were very good, and are getting really old). Vast majority of my problems were while on Facebook, plus, they're just a favorite target of mine, so I blamed that app. Maybe it is the OS, dunno.

At any rate, I feel your pain on that issue.

Ya I have the itouch also it is the newest one I think(4g) and I just updated it and notice after putting my password it takes a bit to get to the homepage, never did that before.

Yes, I think the whole iOS 5 platform is full of problems. Several people that I know has had theirs crash because of it. Mine crashed, was able to restore but I lost everything. Stepdaughter's crashed and took a new phone to fix.

mrpink 12-03-2011 12:23 PM

I did both the iOS 5.0 and iOS 5.01 updates on my iPhone 4 with zero issues. My wife is still running iOS 5.0 I believe and she hasn't bitched about any problems (related to the phone that is)

User error.

My wife has a 4s.... No issues really except Facebook can't act funny.

I have no upgraded my iPhone 4 because there is no untethered jailbreak yet.

Crashed about three maybe four times today, all within my 30 minute lunch break. Music was playing and only a single Safari window looking either here on RCC, or a much larger and more complicated web site, Head-fi.com

Guess I'll wipe it all out and start over maybe.

klabeaume 12-05-2011 12:16 PM

just updated my 4s a few days ago, haven't had any issues yet.

EeePee 12-05-2011 12:56 PM

Crashed my music player and Safari at the same time, just after a restart.

This is annoying actually. Guess I should be working anyways.

Re: Apple's iOS 5.0.1

Seems that an almost monthly restore is needed to keep this thing from crashing all the time.

Not complain, just sayin...

i have the older Iphone 3GS still and its been lagging also. Could be because i had roughly 3000 emails that ran in the back ground. I just deleted them all and I will reply back in a few days and say better as i will know.

And you Apple fags get on a high horse when a Windows PC needs a restore after five years? :flipoff:

I'm talking about a 2.5 inch by 5 inch by 1/2 inch sized portable thing and you're talking about (I assume) a desktop computer from 1995 that runs Windows 98? Please :afro:
