ok im trying to figure out a way to find out what pitch this gear is and i found a thread pitch measurer for bolts i think. Would that work? Its for a boat thats why i am posting here.

there´s two kinds of pitch thread tools... metric and standar... the metrics tells you the number of threads in a bolt, and the standar the number of threads in 1 INCH.

i have both tools. can they tell me the pitch of a gear like a pinion gear for a rc boat

one way to start your estimation is that the 32 pitch is very steep and very deep in height of the tooth.... the 48 is shorter and tighter and 64 (i think) is even finer and shorter.... 32 is used on emaxxes and some tamiya.... 48 is usually electric losi. Hope this helps hope im right

i know its not 48 its bigger and ive never seen 32 so i dont know

if it's bigger than 48... it could be 32... or possibly even 48 metric pitch

whats doubting me is that its a nikko boat if i cant find a gear does anyone know of a good way to direct drive the propshaft and a motor shaft like some knid of coupling or something
