| Next TLT project- Long Term
I've run out of conventional 4-wheeled things to build from the TLT, so I'm going to bump it up a notch, just because it's going to be really hard to do. But before I start on this one, I'm going to clear out all my current projects, because this one's going to take all my brainpower (and considerably more) to pull off. And a hell of a lot of cash, too. So after the tow truck, F-350 Hi-Lift (yes, I consider that a current project) Stunimog and all the others are done, I'll start on... The TLT-based M3 half-track. Look for the build to begin sometime in 2007. It'll take six months to work out the bugs before I even start on it. |

I have wanted to build a half track for so long. Good luck on it, it's not going to be easy.

Steel, No, I'll still race, but I won't take on any new builds until this mega-project is either done or aborted. I still have to work out the difference in drive ratios between the wheels and the tracks, whether or not it needs a differential brake on the tracks for steering, exactly how to make that happen and how to mix it with the steering, how to get the suspension working so the tracks stay on the sprockets, and a few hundred other problems that will come up once the build gets underway in '07. Racing will be a pleasant diversion from all that |

I'll scratchbuild one out of .080 styrene. The only hard part will be the front fenders; the rest is all flat panels. I'm shooting for a finished product about 30 inches long, probably in the neighborhood of 15-20 pounds. rockwerks, that's cheating. Gotta be shaft drive |

If you got your tracks and suspension off of the 1/14 scale tanks.....then used 2.2 fronts you should be fairly scale.... the only thing to worry about is if you plan on powering the front axel.. the gear ratio's are gonna be **** to work out

i would suggest using a set of big rig rear axles, and fit the tracks to those. then figure out a braking system from some kind of 1/8 scale buggy...

I'll probably do something like the Blizzard uses, two brakes with a bias bar setup off a single servo, mixed with the steering. I've got 6 months or more to think about it |
