| XR10 price drop??
What the heck happened to cause the xr10 price drop? I always wanted to build one just because they look cool as hell, but couldn't justify the price. Has the crawler scene dropped of that much or what? I've found em as low as $119 Last edited by BAXTER; 01-13-2012 at 08:21 AM. |

Well i think axial has lost sales so they had to lower their prices and also they just couldnt compete with the prices so they dropped it. It's all about supply and demand. They still are a great truck so dont let this shy you away.

X2...you're looking at a lot of VP stuff and definitely the gears need upgrading right away before you strip them and RC4wd's replacement set last I checked were backordered from holiday sales. Most of our local comp guys still prefer Bully axled rigs for MOA.

a friend and i were talking about this yesterday as he's thinking about building one just to piss around with he has an modded ax10 right now but wants a second crawler. tower hobbies had them for 139.99 but jumped the price to 169.99.. but its a kit which is fine needs assembling no big deal but they need 2 motors, 2 esc's, tx, all that shit to run them then mods on top of that.. we roughly priced it out at around 600 bucks i think.. you could piece together an ax10 with brand new parts for 400.00-450.00. the xr10 isnt much of a deal.. but i when get working again and have all my shit (fines) paid off and got my DL back i want to get a wraith kit and the new exo-terra buggy kit. |

Mines built to the teeth so i'm not one to talk, but there are plenty of guys running them stock or near stock and they have been fine. I think you can just do bushing kit and have a really solid truck. I wouldn't shy away from one at 119 bucks. I paid a hell of a lot more for mine. Once they are running they are a great rig.

^^ Agreed. You can run basiclly stock aside from bearing's or Bushing's without issue. I ran my stock gears since the XR was released until last week and they were still in perfect condition. I would recommend links too just because of the amount of play in the uppers, but shrug.

I run a 2.2 Bully, my son just bought a used modded XR-10......all I can say is WOW, the XR-10 goes well! It would be hard to make a Bully do some of what the XR-10 does. Yes, you can do a lot of "free stuff" to a Bully and make a solid reliable rig for not a lot of money, but the XR-10 has quite a few advantages. But, no, I'm sticking to my Bully........for now......... | |

most of you guys are forgetting that axial puts out there kits as an entry level kit....if they put out a full blown upgraded kit, it would cost a hell of a lot more and not everyone would want that....i know i want to do the upgrading with what i wanted in it and not what i'm forced to buy stuff i might not want, plus how would axial know what to put in as to upgraded junk........bob .... |

I figured the price drop might have been an indication of a new/ updated kit coming soon. Since they redid the SCX models recently, figured the XR was next? Maybe new kits with a bearing fix and other updates made? I have been tempted to get one also since they got so cheap. |
