Default What do you use???

Hey guys I am about to get some kind of cam to make some vids. But my issue is that I usually don't have someone with me when I am out with the rcs. So I was thinking about that go pro he with the head strap. What do you guys use or recommend?

I use a GoPro - it takes great video. It has a fish eye lens and I like the way it shoots from close up much better than at a distance. I just place it on the ground or a rock and shoot from there. I'm sure a head mount will work, it has great image stabilization.

Very cool. Yeah I have noticed the fish eye it has. Is there any way to take that off or is that standard?

Fisheye effect is from the lens - nothing you can do about it. If you get in close it's less noticeable. Here's a vid I shot a few weeks ago:

Nice vid. So do you have a tripod or do you just lay it on the ground? Also which one do you have to go pro 1 or the hd 2?

I have the HD Hero Original, not the brand new one. Check out this comparison - it looks like the new one can be set to a narrower field of view (FOV). Product Comparison: HD HERO2 & HD HERO Cameras
That might solve the fish eye effect. I usually just lay it on the ground or a rock.

Some guys attach the camera to their tx also. I personally like the camera in a stationary position. I use a little 6" or so tripod. My camera is a Canon SX230 HS, I like it but the lens is not ideal for stuff where the camera might fall over. It is also the family carry around camera and we wanted the longer zoom so that is why we went with that type. I want to get "The Pod" THE RED pod for my next tripod because I think it will provide a good base and won't get knocked over.

I'm thinking about getting the GoPro tripod mount and this tripod. Until then, it sits on rocks and sticks.

That's pretty funny. I have basically that same tripod now but mine is orange and black. I am going to just get that go pro hd. Seems like a great choice.
