|  The wasr ak47 or the sks?
what's the better rifle of the two? (price, quality, reliablity,etc.)

Depends on what you want to do with it. Ak platform has easier reloads and plentiful, cheap mags.

Both are fuggin heavy....I own an SKS, kinda wish I got an AK, just because there is a bigger market for upgrades/cool schwag. The AK is a very very "tough" gun. Its Russian tested and insurgent approved. At the end of the day it comes down to preference considering they're both 7.62..TulAmmo at Wal-Mart right now is dirt,dirt cheap. $5 for 20rounds.

AK for durability alone....Ugly, but definately a reliable and upgradeable battle rifle.  |

I've built, modded, and shot my fair share of each...and I'd have to steer you towards the ak as well. Reliable, easy to find parts for, and tough as nails. When the average user is 10-12 years old and they can spray lead with the best of them...it's a pretty solid platform.

Ive had 2 SKS's. Have shot a AK, but never owned one. What made the SKS's reliable for me was a good quality steel 30 round clip. The plastic clip are garbage. You can get a Dragunov stock and make the SKS look pretty bad ass, but in the end if I bought another it would be a AK.

I owned both,SKS had a better more reliable firing pin design depending on the manufacturer.My buddy also had the Russian model and had issues with it.My SKS never missed a beat.

I've shot an SKS, but I own an AK and I prefer the AK. Lighter weight, better balance and decent accuracy if you aren't putting a round too far away. I also have a CZ VZ58. Great rifle. Basically similar to an AK with a milled receiver and a few more updates. Optics are a problem though. |

screw both, get an AR-15.  jk, ak is unbeatible in rebiability but is in fact ugly. actualy the AK-74 is a good alternative. |

SKS. It's a good, cheap rifle that's fun to shoot and pretty reliable. WASRs are more or less junk. If you want an AK, you get a Yugoslavian or a new one from a respectable manufacturer. Every Romanian AK I've shot has been real sloppy fit and finish. |

WASR. i love it and use it every weekend either target shooting or hog hunting. havent had a single problem with it in about a year. got it at cheaper then dirt for a little under $500  |
