Who Here Doesnt Have A Facebook Page?

Don't have one, need one, or want one, and even though I have a smart phone too, the GPS only comes on when I need it, the google history is disabled on that account (if you're not logged in, it doesn't appear to record your doings) either.

Nope, not here either, nor a smartphone.

Yes, I have friends that want me to get one so I can pictures, etc., but I agree it can be a time waster.

The only real reason I can see to get an account is to get "squatters rights" on my name. It would also allow a now & then look at anothers page.

I have one, keePs me in touch with family all over the country and my mom I havnt seen since I was 5. If fb is set to private , only the people you want can see. If there's drama on yours , it's because you let it be . Deleate that person , no drama. And just like rcc , many company's have giveaways and show new products or have specials on fb first or only.

I think its a great idea to look at peoples FB page before giving them a job to be a State Police Officer. It will show the persons character, or in other words you will know if the person is a dumb ass drama whore.

Here's the issue- even if you de-activate it, all of your information is still there, you CAN'T delete it. I've tried without any luck. I've had freinds try to delete their information before closing down their acc'ts and you can't do it. FB has the mentality that all of that information you provide becomes THEIR property.

I disagree. Citizens personal lives are already over-invaded and this is just one more straw.

I was talking to someone yesterday about this and my take was that it would be like 40+yrs ago telling a potential employee to go round up everyone he knows and bring them into the office for the interview. How stupid does that sound. Just because technology has made it easier for an employer to actually go about doing the aforementioned doesnt mean it should be done.


So KBrog, given your stance what would you say about an potential cadet not having a FB page??? Would/should they be forced to open one??
