Washington Oregon Crawlers.

The local RC dirt track that just finished a road track has started the build on a Crawler course. I'm not sure who is helping set it up but I was told "they run comps".

I've been trying to get them rock and like concrete from job sites so they can finish it and have it ready to run on.

When it is done I would like to run a comp here. So if anyone is interested let me know.

I'm in Olympia, WA so it is a decent mid point for both the Portland, OR and WA guys from up north.

The place is called - 4 Seasons R/C racing and they carry a good amount of stock including lathes and will order what ever you need with a good turn around (usually about a week).

Hey, I know right where that is- right by my friends house in Olympia. Maybe you WA guys can scope it out and post some pics?

Double J 07-10-2006 09:43 AM

I have to go buy there today or tomorrow. I could take some crappy pics with my crappy camera. I live and work about 5-10 minutes from them.
Someone by the name of Jason is helping set it up. You wouldn't know who this is by chance would you?

I will be going up north on Tuesday - maybe I could donate some of the rock I have.... And this is only part of my collection....8)

I have a bunch that I could do without.... Maybe I could give them a call and see if they want any or not. Don't know how much I could carry in the back of my Jeep but would give it a shot.

Nice rock pile!

NitroRC Ed 07-10-2006 10:06 AM

Just found store info - looks like I may not be around when they are open...:-( Always like checking out new shops. Oh well - will give them a call today - maybe someone will be able to meet me over there when I am on my way back.

That rock pile is what happens when you have a garage built and they keep digging.. I don't mind though - have more out back - lots of places to crawl.

They can use it. No questions about that. They said they could hall it also. If I don't go by there today I'll give them a call in the evening and see if they will travel to battle ground. What is it like an hour away.
The guys name is David that is in charge of the crawler course

They have a nice little set up. Clay indoor track and just made an onroad outdoor track.

NitroRC Ed 07-10-2006 10:48 AM

Might not be worth the drive down with gas prices the way they are - probably 1 1/2 hour drive or so. I will try and give a call at 4:00 today to see if anyone would be around on Tuesday. This is the lava type rock - nice traction when dry.

I do have a large pile out behind the house as well - so if for some reason they did want to do a road trip they could pull from that pile whatever they wanted. Granted lots of those rocks will require at least two people to move though...;-)

I would rather crawl over big rocks than a bunch of little ones.

Codeman55 07-10-2006 02:15 PM

I live over here in Bonney Lake so Olympia isn't too far away. That would awesome to get somethin going over their.

Try and get some pics the next time you go.

If this gets up and going, maybe, just maybe, I'll have someone to kick my *** in a comp. Of course, that would require having something more than the nylint running.

DoubleJ... did you just recently move to WA? Or are you just visiting?

Olympia isn't too far for us PDX are folks, just a short 1.5 hours, if that...that's like me driving to Salem:lol:

Get some pictures and more contact information. Are they cool with crawlers on Sunday? That's when 80% of the ORCRC crew is free to roam the land:twisted:

TLTCrawlin 07-12-2006 01:30 PM

Unimoger 07-12-2006 01:33 PM

lookin good guys, ED should be able to drop a ton of rock off for that pile too, I have seen what he has and he has pleanty to spare.

Trike Kid 07-12-2006 03:15 PM

any word on what classes and rules they'd be running? My fleet is basicly all scalers.

TLTCrawlin 07-12-2006 03:17 PM

Im going to run scaler, but im running in oregon its closer!

Double J 07-12-2006 03:20 PM

I don't beleive that they have any rules set up at this point, but I'll call and ask.

I think that if we get a comp togeather they will let us use it for what ever we may need. When they get it complete and find out what they want I'll post up when we can run comps on it. I'll give them a set of USRCCA rules to have them look at, if they don't allready have them.
