Default Mud truck motor

What is everyone useing in there mud trucks. I've only tried a couple of motors. I'm really looking for lathe torque and titan speed. Also how is everyone keeping the debris out of the motors.
Here are pics from today,

Nice submerging. Use a 45t lathe with one of those rubber endbell caps.

Try a MM with some 1/4 inch foam zip tied around the end bell. The foam trick works, used to do it when I ran 1/10 Sprints

Dude, you need to roll that window up!! Do you want to get mud all over your new sponge squarepants seat covers?
Looking good, definitly try the foam, it works at the beach keeping sand out of endbell.
I have used the rubber endbell caps motors ran real hot.

Hot? With the motor underwater, I'd say hot isn't much of a big deal. But I'd go with the foam, never heard of it before.

I would suggest a Kyosho Mag Mayhem motor. It's 550 size and 22 turn so it should be a hoss of a motor.

I'm not sure about the foam you guys are talking about, but I would think foam would soakup water. Use a balloon over the end of the thing. Cheap and easy.

A long time ago I used what looked like a Brillo pad, made into the shape that would slip over the entire motor. It'd flow water, but the big chunks of crap wouldn't get in.

Thnaks for the suggestions guys I'll try severall of them. I havn't seen one of the foam covers since about 93. Where can you buy a rubber or foam these days.
I think I have some scotch brite pads for body work. I'll try that too.

I wish I could run MM's on my 2.2 Clod, but my upper links just won't let me.:-(

I have found the sealed end bell motors seem to hold up better, to mud running. Less places for crap to get in. I use a stock silver can geared 13/90. A traxxas stinger with a GD600 might be a good posibilty.

Just personal experience, the matrix lathe motors suck in debris. Maybe it was just a 1000 to 1 chance but I was driving my tlt a few weeks ago in the grass(average height) and I stopped cold. I did a few tests and found the motor was dead...or so I though, I pulled the tranny, took out both the brushes and found a single blade of grass in the end of the motor that was blocking the brush has thing like this happeded to anyone? I thought that it was a fairly closed up motor and couldnt really see how the blade of grass easily got in.

It retains a little water, but most foams won't "sponge up" water. Water does alot less damage than mud and rocks.
