3rd longest serving rep senator ousted

Indiana had an election yesterday and a 36 year term senator rep was ousted by tea party canidate "thumbsup".
This needs to become the norm for a while, get these lifer's out of there hiding spot's and get someone in to make forward movement.
Anyone , dem or rep, who has been an elected and been in office that long needs to go. They are the leaders due to there grip on there houses' that prevent most change from taking place.
New blood is a start "thumbsup".
I'm hoping for a trend to start.

This guy:
Richard Lugar - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This has to be a primary election....the general isn't until November.

You are correct, it is a primary, I got ahead of myself it sounded so good.
By a 2/3rd's majority he has lost the primary "thumbsup". Still a very good sign. As is the Walker recall election coming up, The dem running against the union busting Walker is also non union.
As Bob Dylan said, "Times they are a changin'".

Maybe in years passed.....but by looking at the numbers from this election, his voters weren't happy with his performance.

I too believe that term limits would solve mucho corruption and complacency "thumbsup". No limits in the congress and the senate are there "gateway drugs" to the power hungry bastards.
Same goes for college professor's.

Ummmmm, what? I'd like to hear your argument for that. Followed by your qualifications for stating it (education, university, years).

Bill Ayers, Ramona Ripston, Ward Churchhill, Todd Gitlin come to mind, U of Chicago, U of Cali, U of Denver, and the thing with college professors just like with teachers is there tenure, they should not be givin' a free ride with tenure, they should earn there right to continue teaching. With yearly evaluations.
Why should any one be promised a lifetime job and not have to perform in the students best interes t? This is socialism at its finest.
Teaching idioligy is not teaching.

There is a HUGE difference between that and term limits!

I had many professors that had been teaching for 10 to 20 plus years. Losing them as professors because someone thinks term limits are a good idea would have been a huge loss.

Are you mad that they are teaching ideology, or are you mad because they are teaching ideology contrary to yours?

I don't know who you think is mad, but as for ideology, common sense knows good or bad.

Re: 3rd longest serving rep senator ousted

I agree that there needs to be term limits for all politicians, from a local level on up. These people are what is hurting our country and why our country is in the shape that it is in right now. I disagree to a point that teachers need to be limited on there tenure or whatever it was that was being talked about. Some of the best profs that I had in college where the ones that had been there forever, in one department, but in other departments (i.e. computer science) there are definitely some profs that need to be let loose. There was one guy teaching CIS that was still talking about floppy disks and thought that raid 0 was hard to configure.

Bye Bye Lugar, don't forget to close the door on your way out. Also while on your way, why don't you hop accross the pond into KY and take Mitch McConnel with you?
