Default Whittling / Carving...

My brother in law picked up a couple of knives and chisles/gouges last weekend and I played around for the first time ever. I definately see this as something I can get into.

The last ones a chess piece (pawn) Im working on and the first three are faces.

Im picking up a FlexCut starter kit day after tomorrow, which consists of a cutting knife, roughing knife and finishing kinfe. I'll also be picking up some gouges from Lome Depot along with some sand paper, stain and more wood.

Anybody else fancy this hobby....Im really digging it!

Blood is red all of the time, oxygenated or not. Bright red for arterial blood and dark red for venous blood.

Proper technique is essential and what Ive focused on much more than design so far.

Plus the golden rule: Keep your blades sharp. Most people get cut from a dull knife. You shouldnt have to put much effort forth for it to make a cut. I sharpen about every 20min.

Kind of a weird butt plug you got going there!

Is that one of those "super rimmers" I heard about??

Wondering why you chose that as a project?

Its a tree. My fiance wanted one and as I mentioned Im working more on technique than form right now.

Butt, if youre interested I might be able to carve a "butt plug" for ya. Youll have to send some pics though as Im not familiar with the subject. What do you use yours for anyway??
