Default help identifying something #2

Good help on the first one, lets see if anyone can tell me something about this thing. I picked it up at an estate a couple years ago. Just thought it was cool, very industrial looking. I have no idea what the heck it is.

I think it's German made. It says Dusseldorf on the name plate. Difficult to read the plate.

Its a knopflerbergenstien. Fairly common, though not always intact like yours. Better than the Danish copy that was around for a while.

From the pics, i'd have to guess its some sort of device to measure the angle of something.

Only thing i can thing of that something is would be an engine or something...maybe to get the cam and crank in sync (not sure on the technical term)

That's kind of what I thought. Dusseldorf may be the place of manufacturing or part of a company name from there. Any more info readable on the label?

Are those letters etched in on the manufacture plate? If so could you try putting a piece of paper over it and rubbing a pencil over it like we all did with leaves and pennies as kids? I can see 1447 whatever than number is though...
