i took a spill up at sunday river in maine that completely ended my mountain biking lifestyle as i knew it. it was early morning and the sun hadn't yet made it's way around the back side of the mountain to dry up the mist from the night before... long story short because i have no video proof.

sea otter classics, pro course, lift six. i washed out in a root section and fell into a 15 foot hole.
neck and shoulder first. my total dollar cost in hospital, doctor, and specialists was just over $ 26,000. the story even made dirt rag magazine.

judging from your video it looks like you are out a $ 2.00 box of band aids, a $ .97 bottle of peroxide, and one pair of size medium fruit of the loom underpants.

when i first saw your jump i was expecting to see you being pulled by a four wheeler or a suburban...
so everything else that didn't happen after that was just a pure coincidental let down.

get out there and try to crash again for us, this time with more style...
AND FEELING !

Is anyone else stuck on clicking the 0:04 second mark on the video? I can't stop clicking it. I'm trying to think of a way to type that sound out.

But 25 years ago almost "everyone" had a BMX bike, remember this is pre-mountain bike fad. If you didn't have a BMX bike, you were the kid that sat in the house all summer and didn't have any friends. I go into town now I may see one or two kids riding around, we rode around in packs of 10 to 15 people. They built a set of kickers in the park down the street, you may see two or three guys riding there, would have killed to have that down the street from my house.

That is a sweet pic, we used to ride with about 10-15 guys and we had a lot very similar to this one it was my buddies grandparents land right in the middle of town, we had one big jump about the size of the one in the pic and a couple smaller six packs, it was alot of fun until the city started giving us alot of trouble and my buddy had to end up tearing it down. After that it was back to street riding.

Also, don't ever take your feet off of the pedals right before you land. That is a 100% guarantee that you will fall.

Once again, it's not showing how big of air I got, or how big the jump is, it's just me wrecking, gravity will do that to you sometimes. And did ever even say I was a professional bike rider? No. We as humans are going to fail, even on some tiny jumps. But you know what, we pick our selves up, master the little things, then move on to bigger and better things.

Its all good, dont worry about it. We all started on small jumps like that and in a year from now I bet you'll be hitting the big stuff, just dont rush what your comfortable doing and you'll be fine.

It isnt me. but you could learn to not bash on somebody you dont know. whats the big deal? does it make you feel better to talk down on people? not making this rude but seriously. Nothing in the pic is affecting you, i dont see why you should feel the need to leave a negative comment.

"carry on"
