Default new Bugatti family sedan

Quote:
Remember the Galibier? The four-door version of the Veyron is headed for production and Bugatti CEO Wolfgang Durheimer sat down with Car and Driver last week to spill some quasi-details. The super-sedan will in fact get twin turbos on its 8.0L W16, just like the Veyron, and will produce "over 1,000" hp and will exceed 235 mph in top speed. I don't feel like there's any real news here: I think Bugatti just likes to pop up and make sure the Galibier gets mentioned every so often, just to keep the dream alive. Supposedly it'll actually make it to production around 2015.

The Veyron has 4 turbos, not 2.

I'll be shopping for a new family vehicle in the next year or two. Will put this one on my list. I'm hoping it's around the $50K mark I'll plan on spending.

This made me laugh out loud in the office.

Interesting concept. Guess they want to have the most expensive 2-seater and the 4-seater as well..

Well, at least it looks better than the Veyrone, but I think I will stick with my 200 and XJ for now

It has such plain-jane door handles and steals BMW's Hoffmeister kink on the C-pillar as a critical styling element. Ettore must be spinning in his grave.

235 with four people in it, that should be a pretty big yard sale.

Looks like the Panamera has competition for the most ugly, overpriced sedan.

That is exactly what I was thinking. There is a guy who lives down the road here who has a black Panamera and I see him everyday going to work. That car is huge and resembles a hunched-down roach.

What's the point. Not like your wife will let you go 200+ with the kids in the back seat. There's no way it gets even decent gas mileage. Just all in all an idiotic idea. I'd like to see how many they actually sell.

Why are they building this? The Sultan of Brunei is dead.

....and most of Dubai owes tons of money.

If VW would do this right, they would build Bugatti race cars and some on-road cars to finance the reparto corse a la Ferrari. The original Bugattis were known as racing machines, not NBA bling-bling playtoys. There were some coachbuilt sedans and coupes built off the race chassis but Bugatti was always known as a racing innovator.

If it did that, I guess VW would be stepping too hard on Audi's toes with their Le Mans wins and such.....
