| Went to the Flea Markets
I found a few hidden treasures today at the Flea Markets. I have been wanting to build a CJ-5 Tube buggy. Buy was trying to figure a good way to make the side and doors. Well I picked this body up for 50 cents. I also came across and found an old Radio Shack CJ-7 that had a folding down windsheild, Jerry Can, Spare tire, seats, and a dash. Oh and a winch. Picked it up for 10 bucks. Last but least the best deal of the day was this 5 dollar gem. It's an Steath Buggy. Every thing works perfect. Just didn't coem with the radio. But the tranny alone is worth $45 not the metion the alumn adjustable shocks. Not a bad day at all if you don't say.

I cant tell from the angle, but it is either gen 1 stealth or OG RC10 6 gear tranny. Is it huge and bulky?

It doesn't seem to be. There is so much stuff around it. I'll have to take it apart and get it out. Seems to be the same size has my b4.

I would say that looking at the car, w/ the mechanical speed control that it is a early model RC10 w/ a 6 gear tranny and not a Stealth. Unless it was retrofitted. Very nice find. Want to sell it??? |

Yes that is an origanal rc10 golden tub and if you gut it for the tranny I will turn you into a tranny. If you want a tranny I will trade you a pede tranny for the entire car.

Good god man, don't take it apart to put it into a crawler...!!! From the looks of it, that is an original RC-10. Although not as valuable as a bruiser, this is like finding a Bruiser in someones attic and having them sell it to you for $20.

Listen to these guys. That's not something you rape for parts. It's a valuable, collectible car. Somebody will give you actual money for it, a hell of a lot more than you paid. If you want a Stealth trans, I'll assemble a brand new one for you, with a motor plate and everything. Send me the goldie and we'll call it even. |

The boxy style six gear tranny is unlockable (from what I am told). The top shaft splits into left side and right side drive. I rebuilt mine so many stinkin times as a kid, yet I cant remember the OG setup inside. I eventually went to a stealth tranny and never had to rebuild it. That was one helluva find. What kind of flea markets you have around there? We dont have anything like that around here. |

that's an org. 6 gear trans. that trans would suck for a crawler, since it has a ratio of 1.83. if your plan was to use the trans for a crawler, do someone a favor, and sell them the car, and get a pede trans or something. don't take it apart.
