Same here. After some searching, I found they said to blame video games and movies, and that there should be armed police in all schools. Not sure which part is being talked about in the video though.

There have been threats to our schools here locally because of today. Our local governments response? Put armed police officers in every school in the district.

The NRA is only advocating what local governments ALREADY do. Still, the media and the left say they are crazy.

We have armed guards in banks, malls, casinos, etc...

Why can't we have an armed security officer in every school?

There are plenty of well trained unemployed Veterans who could fill these positions.

That is because trained and armed citizens are not the same as trained and armed security personnel. Duh.

Same here, late 90's early 2000's. They were called Resource Officers and were there for several reasons.

Funny, I suggested just that on NAXJA earlier in the week (my hs did the same), and one of the wingnuts overthere thought that was too expensive vs arming teachers.............

the irony. my high school had an armed officer, though he was fat and probably couldnt run anyone down.

my college has what is equivalent to mall cops. the students are much more armed. the school does have a firearms locker for students to use but since its a hick school most just keep guns in their cars as they are not allowed in the dorms.

Did you watch the NRA response? They are advocating trained and armed security personnel in all schools. Ex military, police, etc... You know, trained and armed, same as a regular patrol cop like my kids had at their schools today.

Or am I missing something in your reply to me?

to avoid any additional cost, train/arm a couple teachers at each school. Back in '97 (I think) there was a wacko that went crazy in a school and was stopped by the armed vice principle.

The nice thing about it being a teacher, the wack jobs wouldn't know who to avoid.

Didnt TX just introduce legislation to arm teachers?

Yeah, I think that is what ours was called as well. We had several "security guards" that were basically worthless (one was fat as shit and couldnt walk two steps without someone having to go get the AED).....but nobody fawked with that officer.

Or have trained police officers do the teaching. Basically the same thing.

Now remember, I have 2 kids in 2 different schools here that had threats made against them this week.

Sorry if I am too serious about the issue.
