Remington 870 Tactical Express. The only major difference between this shotgun and the Police model is the trigger plate. In the police it is alloy, in the express it is polymer.

Had this a few years now.

Basic Mossberg 500 Pursuader. Good points are that it is light, black (inconspicuous, not for being cool), caries 8 rounds, durable, and inexpensive. Bad are that it is light (lot of recoil), not semi automatic (see recoil) and it is a semi basic model. It is great for what I bought it for (home defense). Not much else. Doing it again, and money not being an issue, I would go for something like the SPX pistol grip 8 shot.

Or maybe something from Benelli. My best bud has one of their tactical semi's and it is very nice. While my Mossberg is a good protection gun for low money, the Benelli is in a whole other league in fit and finish. but for 3 times the price you expect that. Recoil absorbing stock and all. Very nice and it fits my 5-8 height and frame better then the Moss 500 does stock.

Basic model Remington 870 or Mossberg in 12/89 short barrel, as simple as possible with no extra crap added on.Which ever feels better.
