|  Tamiya Ford F350 High-Lift
I am thinking about getting one of these. How much articulation should I expect from it? I know it's a scaler, and I don't want to go full crawler on it, but it will definitely see some rock action. this thing should be too much fun. The ultimate scale rig, that we gradually improve like a 1:1. All our clubs should make a 350 class just for this rig. It should also have its own sub forum on here  My plans... -week 1: beat the piss outta it with a Novak Brushless system, completely stock -week 2: 4-link it front/rear with coilover fronts and quarter-elliptical rear (Or full coil over swap) and pede shafts. -week 3: possibly new tires later on.... lexan body doved tailed and custom flat bed or short bed. Planning on keeping the stock chassis and re-locating things / removing crap so it performs better. |

The Tamiya description designates a 4 channel radio? Do you really need a 4 channel to run it? That would be a deal breaker for me, I ain't pushin' no sticks! I wonder if you need the extra channels to shift? What kind of ESC would work? I imagine any normal one would be fine, it's not doing anything crazy. Lastly, and I suspect the answer is NO, but are there any other bodies tha would fit? I'm a Dodge man, myself, but I'll drive it if I have to! It looks like roughly 1/10 scale, although I can't find where is states a size or scale. I saw a pic with a battery in it, truck might even be a 1/8? I'd only swap bodies if it was a hard plastic, that level of detail wouldn't be right with a lexan body on it. |

As far as shifting, yes you will need a 3rd channel radio, you can always do a tq3 radio with a 3 position switch mod. I am sure you can always lock it in one gear like on a bruiser trans and not shift at all. If you go with the MFU down the road you WILL NEED a 4 channel stick radio. MFU also has the ESC built in. If you are running it for now, as long as you leave the stock motor in it, which is recommended any esc will work just fine. Mike | |

Okay, cool. I run an MX3 anyway, so that'll work fine. I'll just pick up whatever EC my LHS has in stock, probably something basic and Rooster-esque. Some batteries and two(?) servos, then a $400 truck and I'm all set! The Jugg is a Chevy, right? |
