It's hard to lose a pet. They are part of the family.

Really sorry to hear that, he's in a better place now. I have a dog that has been having siezures lately, it's an extremely emotionally painful thing to deal with.

So sorry to hear about Jake.

I have a Chocolate Lab that I consider my "Fur Person" , much above the ordinary dog. Her name is Ozzie and she is now 14. She has more recently lost her vigor and the days of her puppy face are lessening. I dred the day she passes and cherish every moment with her now. I will be sure to give her a hug for Jake.

This is kinda long and not sure if you have ever read or seen it before, but please allow me to share "Rainbows Bridge" with you.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Good looking pup.

I've always liked Dachshunds, I have one asleep in my lap right now. Very faithful and full of personality.

Sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. As a fellow dog owner, there is no doubt that they are family. The true definition of unconditional love.

Thanks guys for all the great words and thoughts . It has been a very rough day and not getting and easier . I can honestly say as a grown ass man this is the most I have cried in a long long time . He is family and is like one of my kids that I won't get to play with or have him waiting here at the door when I get home . I can't believe it and it hurts so bad it will just take some time I guess
