Ok, so why fear guns?

Maybe the non stop fear mongering they are seeing on TV?

IMO, the television is much more dangerous than firearms.

I agree about the tv being more dangerous than guns to the average citizen.

but, the tv kills slowly to where a gun is capable of killing several people very quickly.

I think they fear the guns because of the boisterous gun owners always posturing about how they won't hesitate to shoot somebody.

Almost to my fouth year without any TV in my house (no internet either.)

My kid was what really made me decide to end the lifelong addiction of mine & help he keep that monkey off her back.

More people die in automobile accidents than they do by firearms by far.

Why is there no mass hysteria about them?

TVs and cars are inanimate objects. I thing we can agree that are both more dangerous than firearms.

What is it about firearms that they are vilified so?

I have a cpl, I cary a concealed handgun and I will not hesitate to use it. However, I pray I never need to use it and I don't go looking for reasons to. I still avoid the bad parts of town and honestly carrying makes me triple think before I speak or act in certain situations.

I don't see how anyone can think that our beloved government would turn on the people. It's not like we have a large population within the country that believes the government should regulate every action we make. Like what and how much we eat or how to raise our own children. This is a country where we can freely practice any religion we want as long as it's not Christianity. We can speak our minds without fear of reprisals as long as it's watered down with political correctness. We are truly free to do whatever they allow us to do.

Just because it happens over and over though out history doesn't mean we need to worry or be vigilant. Seriously guys just because a law won't solve the problem and is based entirely on political opportunism is no reason to resist it.

I wonder how many times though out history someone said that won't happen to us right before a solders boot/sandal stopped their ass into the ground. Probably not many right?

To get better at it, to compete against others who spare the same interest, to spend time with my son doing something we enjoy, etc... I do it for the same reason people who play golf go to the driving range for.

Point being, the tool used to do the damage isn't the issue. It's the person using the tool that should be the issue.

Stop fooling yourself as to why people are so against them. Personally, I am not, but I completely understand why people are against guns. When you understand your opponent, then you are better prepared to debate them.
