I had a 74 260z. One of the baddest cars I ever drove. At 140 mph it would hunt around on the road, no spoilers or spooks, and what ever the max safe speed for the curve, you could double it. I put a 350 chev and 5 spd in it and did 3d gear burnouts till I sold it. Hank

The wagon is the coolest car of the bunch by far.

Well, the Prelude is good for one thing, and it does that only marginally well, SCCA road racing. Just a goofball car but it had two motors that people would stuff into hatches and that was cool. So, good donor car, that's about it. The blue Civic was the first Si in the US to not be a hatch. But it did bring the little 1.6 liter screamer over here, and has the last of the good suspension under it. Kinda wanted one, never went there. Not a hatch. I'd like to put that motor in a that year hatch. That would have been the proper 6th generation USDM Civic Si. Killed it at SCCA road racing. Killed it. The Civic Si four door can go to hell. That motor should have went in the Si hatch and they would have sold twice as many (and I'd have one). Honda legitimately made a mistake there (little bitter). Fairly potent car though, in its class. I'd highly consider a Focus hatch at that point, despite their five doors. The RSX or Integra would be okay. I have the same suspension and it's not that great lowered. The RSX Type S motor is nice, again, shoulda went in the Civic hatch. I presume they didn't want the Civic to be faster than the more upscale Acura RSX. So, yeah, the old wagon. I've always like em, but considered them kinda frail, and old. Fragile and worn. My good buddy had a killer red one that was pretty refreshed but after a short while got rid of it for a lot more than you'd expect. Near $6k. Goofy 4wd system sometimes and old ass car... but pretty sweet. I'd do the blue Civic coupe. |
