That the 18th Amendment wasn't to stop people from consuming alcohol as a beverage, but to stop them from using it as a fuel, being pushed through by John D. Rockefeller so he, through Standard Oil, had no competition in selling his refining byproduct gasoline for motor vehicle fuel.

I have read that there are claims that the anti- marijuana laws are also set up to prevent Hemp from being used as a biofuel and textile material.

Not totally sure on either one, having potheads being the major supporter of the latter really doesn't help the argument.

Henry Ford also was very anti-semetic, he used to rail against Jews and when the book came out, he would print translated excerpts of Hitler's Mein Kampf in his investors' newsletters. Between that and paying his bills to parts suppliers with Ford Stock, he pissed the Dodge Brothers off bad enough they went from making bicycle and Model T parts to making their own cars"thumbsup"
