| Father & Son Crawling
Here's a thread to post stories/pics of father & son (or daughter) crawling! Here's my brief story - (pics coming soon) 24 years ago my dad (Santa Claus) gave me a Varicom Cyclone (panda), which I promptly slammed into the curb and broke (dang stick controls). A little later, my dad gave me a Tamiya Lunchbox (which I didn't crash, thanks pistol grip) that I still have to this day. I owe much of my passion for RC to my dad who encouraged the habit, being a model airplane builder himself. As the years passed, we both drove/flew less and less - such is life. Recently, however, I "discovered" crawling and have had the distinct pleasure of getting my dad into crawling! We are going to the LHS this week to pick him up an RTR scaler!! It's really funny because he's so excited, kind of like how I was at the age of 7 I'd love to hear/see other "family crawling" stories and pics - post yours! |

So nobody else has fathers or sons? Or maybe you're all bastards Anyhow, my dad ended up picking up an RTR rubicon at our LHS. We took it to Morro Bay for the maiden voyage - it was a blast! Last edited by Crawl Space; 09-24-2013 at 10:00 PM. Reason: Smaller Pics!!! |

My 6 year old girl has her own SCX, and competes in local events. I pretty sure she beat me in points in the last event. Its a great way to hang out together and get out side at the same time. |

It's a family thing here. Both daughters and my wife all drive crawlers.

My son and I go to all the comps and scaler GTGs together. Sometimes he even lets me win! |

| Re: Father & Son Crawling Yes, very proud indeed. I am always to busy being here spotter to take pics. We enjoy the heck out of it, even my 2 yr old son likes to give it a try now and then. I got rid of all my fast movers and we now have 3 sxc,s.they are slow enough to be safe, fast enough to be fun, and hold up very well under extreme abuse.

My 4 1/2 yr old son and go out and get some trailing in. Next year I think I will get him comping with us. My 3 yr old is right behind him. My older boy has a scx10 and the 3 yr old has a wraith. My wallet isn't looking forward to when he figures out comp crawling. Its a blast and no I don't have any pics as I am too busy watching and guiding him to even think about it. I know there are a few floating around from my club members thou so I will see what i can dig up.

Very cool guys. My wife has zero interest in crawlers but I'm hoping at least one of my daughters will at some point.

Great thread, I bought a honcho off our local craigslist. took it out a few times by myself. one day my 8 year old asked if he could come with me and take pics/vids with his itouch. turned out he loved crawling as much as dad. so i gave him the honcho to play with and i went out and bought a dingo. now my oldest son wants a crawler as well. so i will find another one get a couple of new bodies and we will be out crawling on xmas morning. only problem i see is my four year old is going to want one too. damn life is rough when you can hang out with your kids all doing something fun!! will post pics of trucks later |
