Apparently it is not. Civilized behavior exists apart from religion quite easily and commonly. Historically, Christianity has not always been the beacon of morality or ethics.

A pleasant afterlife is assumed, not proven.

I agree that religion shouldn't be pushed on people but I find it funny that the liberals never seem to have a problem when their beliefs, ideology and agendas are pushed on other people through TV, movies, advertising, news outlets, colleges etc... I don't know if you should applaud or pity someone that is willing to turn themselves into a hypocrite for their own ideology.

Also, 'Sabine Parish School ' sounds like what we call a 'private school' around here. If youre enrolled in a school such as, then its a given christianity is going to be marketed.

Neither. Shoot them with one of those RIP rounds.

<-- That means JOKE.

Seriously though, a hypocrite is a hypocrite regardless of any reasons. And they are worthless if they can not come to light with their hypocracy.

I agree but I believe everyone is a hypocrite in some shape or form.

To me this is no different then the many cases of conservative students being discriminated against at liberal schools. I think it's just human nature to go above and beyond in getting people to see things your way. Maybe someday we'll learn to leave each other alone.

I looked at their website and there is no mention of religious affiliation.

Please forgive my ignorance.

Well than thats really stupid that a public school is doing such nonsense, unless the school resides in an overly conservative community.

True, but to accept that you are on some level is different than denying it on any level. Two different kinds of people. That was my point.

Its all good, the parishes come about due to the state being setup by religious french. Treated counties like they were churches, and called them parishes... learned it on that show "how the states got their shapes" who says there is no educational TV anymore

The overly conservative (read religious) community is why its that way.

Funny the US was formed by people running from religious persecution, and its pretty much heading the direction of the crap they ran from... pushing the Christian way or take the highway mentality.

This. The fundamentalists have gone beyond trying to rewrite science books and have moved onto trying to rewrite American history. Its disgusting.

american history has been re-written from the very beginning. when I was in kindergarten they had us doing a skit for thanksgiving showing how great the Indians and pilgrims got along.
My Grandparents and great aunts didn't hear the same history I did when they were growing up on reservations

Prohibition was enacted because of church groups and christian womens' organizations. not because of any other concern. watch the Ken Burns documentary on Prohibition, it gives a pretty good understanding of politics at the time, and how it was nothing like we were told in school. the same goes with the depression and dustbowl. It's all been re-written so that it's "relevant" to current political times.

when I left texas last year, there were several schools in the DFW area that required some students in high school classes to dress like Muslims to "understand their culture better". That wasn't the fundamentalists doing that, it was a few very liberal teachers, that were backed up by the superintendant. It was all over the news out there for about a month.
