| My son brought home the christmas ham
My son Little Ricky went on his 1st hog hunt, they go with dogs and then knife them, they got 3 hogs and his was the biggest at 272lbs. By the way they were in a ice storm the whole time and they wanted ME! to go. I like good weather and a gun! |

That is a nice looking hog. I am surrounded by great hog hunting. Most of the farmers happily allow hunters for hogs and we can hunt them year round. Had some today from a nice young sow. But, I am in this little island were we se NO hogs. Same as coyotes. All around us, but not on my families land or mine. |

A lot of hog hunters use knives. You wouldn't want to accidentally shoot your pricey dog while it's tangled up with a hog.

Nice hog, I like the 100-150 lb range for eating. The meat just tastes better, either way nothing beats sausage from a wild boar. Haven't been pig hunting in a few yrs, but my cousins use the dog and knife method, if you have a good dog that can grab that pig by the ear and hold it to the ground you can pretty much walk up and end it fairly easy. |

A coworker just got back from a hog hunt in Texas. I've always wanted to try one of these. I've heard they're greasy compared to a regular pig...is this true?

Dident realise ppl still hunted that way ? Read about hog hunting with dogs and a knife, but that was in some "suspect" magasine over 2 decades ago. My respect and sincere envy |
