Thumbs up DIY Free Air Conditioning for your work bench/shop/garage

man I gotta make one of these.

I like how its basically free to run.
at first I was like "it still takes electricity" bam he fixed that.
then I was like im not buying a bag of ice every time I want to work in the garage, and bam, a free reusable answer to that too.
I dig it

I have seen safer ways to cut with a razor knife.

I have used milk jug ice since the second time I went camping with a cooler (I like the 1/2 gallon size.)

Pretty simple plan & a solar powered cooling device is a great use of the resource.

Werd. A couple of those will be really handy this summer living in the desert with a non climate controlled, uninsulated garage.

I just noticed the fan is 12v (cig lighter plug) that would make the solar panel cheaper im sure. probly draws less volts and amps.

Very cool, and I'm building one!

The only thing I'd be concerned with is the humidity. I bought a stand alone swamp cooler from Home Depot once. In the large store it felt great...nice and cold. After running it for an hour or so in the living room, it was extremely humid and uncomfortable. It wasn't drawing in fresh dry air, so eventually everything felt damp. I brought it back the next day.

Since this just uses a frozen jug, it will probably be better.

with the ice being contained in a milk jug shouldnt be bad. plus living rooms are much tighter than garages/shop. ie wont seal in any humidity.

now if you used a bag of ice dumped in yeah i could maybe see humidty playing a part.
