Hi, I came up with a new project idea and I decided I want to make a fourwheel drive offroad truck to double as a crwler. I plan on using tlt axles and a rustler tranny with a nova tranny. What should I use for a chassis and how shoul i do the suspension? Any help would be great. thank you!

Here's mine, that truck has gone a long way since then!

Well after stumbling on this site a few months ago and seeing some of the awesome projects going on I had to go and buy a TLT kit to start my first project.

I love the look of the old chevy trucks so i am using a parma clod body.

here's a picture of the frame and what i have of the cage so far.

I'm hoping to get a ride into town tomorrow to get some brazing rod (don't get my license for another 2 months )

The frame rails are made of 16 guage steel, i'm not sure if they'll be strong enough or not, i'll see when i get the rest of the crossmembers in and the cage done.

This is mine:
I'm going to build a concept tube frame. The first thought for this concept was for a full size crawler and then I decided to make a RC version first to see if it worked out ok.
My question(s) is: How well will brass hold up? (I have some brass tube from another project that I did 7/32) What form of brazzing would work well for this? (mapp or a settling set up)

The total length of the frame will be 15 3/8" long by 5" wide (widest part of the frame).

Any info or help would be greatly apreciated. Oh I will be using clod axles from ebay.
and as far as a search been there and done that. I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for...... Maybe if I would have read for a couple more days, There is so much helpful info on this site that I find my self reading every little thing.

I can post a rendering of the frame if it would help anyone answer my questions.

Thanks
J

A link to it 1st tube=have question(s)??

My first post got edited because of stupid RCpics not allowing remote linking.

Here is my first post.

MAXX/Pede crawler
I just started my first crawler, it will have a Stampede trans, and Maxx axels. In the pictures below can anyone tell me if I have the suspension links in a good spot, if they are not in a good spot could someone show me where to to mount the links. I will probably use carbon fiber links, not the ones in the pics. Could someone also show me where to mount the rear links, also any suggestions on shock location.

I can't find my first post, but I remember it being something about a motor. A speed jems motor and if they're still made. This was back in Dec. '04. I remember it because it was the first time I was ever flamed. I posted the same question in like 4 different sections.

Way back in the dusty old archives...

also, is there a solution to the TLT torque roll? short of mounting a sway bar, i mean. i've tried a stiffer spring on the left, and jacking the preload, but then it won't crawl properly.

your input please?
And nobody flamed

I was terrified to post my first time, because of the flaming i had seen while lurking as a guest and from what i had heard from rcuniverse about this site's reputation

anyway, mine was kind of boring...(talking about nylint runtime)

funny part is noone ever replied to that thread after me, so for about a week i was afraid that noone liked me and that everyone was mad at me for not introducing myself:-(

and Double J, it took me a second to figure out what "a settling" was
