Default Legos?

Lego.
Any one else still play around with 'em?

Rock Crawler

Linked front axle, fixed rear.
Front driveshaft uses a slip-yoke setup to allow for compression during flex.
Very slow, I believe it's an overall 27:1 driveline ratio.
4mm clearance center of axle, 5mm at center of body.

1/30th Jeep

Anyone else have some fun Lego vehicles?

I heard on the radio this am that a ship lost it's cargo a few years ago and some of it was a bunch of Lego. They have been washing up on shore recently.

If I was a Dad or Uncle and could afford to do so, I would spent a lot of money at the Lego store by now!

My son loves them. I just bought a 30+ lbs lot at our annual garage sale in the neighborhood for him. They are a very painful land mine when stepped on without shoes though! I still have some back from the 80s

And a few recent ones

I got a Mindstorms NXT kit for my son a few years ago and found it very interesting. Built quite a few things and one of my ultracompact rover designs was used by some kid to win a competition. I think my favorite creation was the ankle biter...remains dormant until something comes in proximity of the ultrasonic sensor or the lights in the room change brightness...then it goes off trying to pinch whatever it can get.
