Anyone familiar with these cars

Ok, my brother found these today while sifting through some **** we own. I've never seen a slot track car set up like this. Thought some of you might know if its a decent set up.

I have a box of about 20+ of these little things, some appear to be hand built. I assume they came from my dad because he did model railroad and slot cars. What do you guys think. I only own a cellphone camera so if you dont like theh pictures I'm sorry.

old afx magna or magna traction slot cars from the 70's early 80's. that ones a 4 gear for longer wheelbase cars. if you have bodies for em and in decent shape you might make some money with em on ebay. i had a few of em when i was a kid. what else ya got?

There is an army of those little cars. Most have bodies, some random tires are in the box as well. There is also a whole group of chassis, armatures, gears, and spare parts in general. I may start collecting these things.

afx made some really cool bodies back in the 70's. baja style bronco, datsun pickup, old ford model t's nomad wagens. and the track was cool too, flex track which you could adjust. go on ebay and search afx slot

In the picture with the tin he also has wire in there to rewind the motors. I'm going to have to ask him whats up with all this.

Ok, I saw some afx cars going for 50+ dollars. Thats insane. Well, its cool we have them. Neat collectors item. We also have a crap load of the slot track, all different sorts.

I wouldnt ever sell them. I was just curious how old, and what type they were. I've never seen a chassis set up like that before, pretty interesting.

I believe the #11 he is holding is an early 60's aurora HO. skinny tires on all 4 predates the afx cars by 10 years or more

Yeah, there is some pretty cool cars in there. I dare not drive one though. I wonder how the motor performance of these compare to a newer style.
