Well, the upgrade itch has struck. I added a Zotac GTX 1070 amp edition, 16Gb of Crucial DDR4-2400, and an EVGA bronze 700w power supply. Got the card overclocked to 2.052GHz, and I gotta say, VR gaming is incredible on this card. There are details in racing games that I've never even seen before, it's a HUGE upgrade from the GTX 970. I can literally see the texture of the track, and rubber buildup in iRacing now, among many, many other things. I can run almost everything on high in iRacing in VR, Dirt Rally and Assetto on Ultra, and Pcars on high while maxing the AA and AS along with post processing effects. I am ecstatic with my setup now, unless I ever try a Titan X that is. |

Bumped the memory to a +600MHz overclock, scored over 1000pts higher than my 970, I can live with that. |

Both look and sound good. With GT being delayed, I have to wonder if the DD wheel will be also. If they can put that DD wheel out at around $800 (though I doubt it), and it's not garbage, then they've got a winner. If it's closer to $1,000, might as well just go OSW for a couple hundred more.

you were wrong about the C6R Randy, it was pretty awesome at the 'Ring took me awhile to make this, had to make 5 movies/views of the whole lap and then merge them together. unfortunatly the MPEG4 compression makes the quality look like crap. but still a fun little project. loved the combo. Ran the lap Friday night and spent saturday and sunday morning putting the vid together. lemme know what yall think. |

Nicely done, Cory! Now you have me thinking of trying the Vette at the 'Ring. |

Thank you! was a ton of work but sort of fun. the key to the C6R at the Ring was working on the braking, making it so you could be aggressive on the binders and not lock up. as you can see i was struggling to hit apexs, buy the time it was slowed down enough i was "apexing" mid track/corner.

Nice lap Cory! But it also illustrates why I struggle with that car. I noticed a lot times you spinning it up off a corner, and the car getting just slightly out of shape. You did a damn good job driving, but I just can't get used to that car. You summed it up saying it had the old ice tire model, and I'd agree. The HPP is just much easier for me to get used to, and therefore what I'll be running in the series. If I ever get back to actual racing that is. LOL

yeah i had the accell diff a bit to loose. but i prefer that over too tight/too fast lock up. should have added a bit to it. definatly the HPP and DP are much easier to drive. i had a blast with them last night at daytona. that was a ton of fun. had it not been sunday i could have raced those all night. |

Yep, once I got used to the DP, it was a lot of fun. I think I had almost as much fun listening to Tommy laughing at you guys as I did racing.

There's a whole thread on the iRacing forum about it, but holy shitballs the latest Nvidia drivers are incredible! I can run iRacing (minus pit objects, crowds and grandstands which I don't care about anyway) completely maxed out with 1.5 supersampling in the render file, in VR, at LeMans! That is HUGE if you aren't aware of how taxing VR is, and how much iRacing demands of your system. It's like my GTX 1070, just became a GTX 1080, for free. Oh yeah, had to try LeMans tonight, the DP is a handful at first, but I heard Tommy's voice in the back of my head saying give those tires some time to heat up. We're gonna have some fun tomorrow night! |

You need jackets in TX, in November? I don't remember that. I do remember taking out the garbage at 11PM three days before Christmas in flip flops and shorts.

Yeah, I was in Houston, so further south. Our winter was three weeks of rainy 50 degree weather. |

SimXperience lured me in with their black Friday sale so I picked up SimVibe for 20% off. Worth every damn penny. Very well done, easy to setup, and no need for fancy mixer programs that cause me grief anymore. Effects are much clearer and more pronounced too. SimVibe controls one soundcard for the telemetry data stream to the bass shaker, and I control either the Rift, or the speakers via the other one in Windows. Hopefully this will fix my issues I've been having with Discord volume being too low, even cranked all the way up in the application.
