^^Well, the tire smoke is in 4k now, so...

I have a hard time making a dedicated time frame for league racing these days, life just gets in the way it seems. But I found this on Reddit, and thought some might be interested. It's a weekly hot lap challenge, and it's open to consoles and PC alike using various simcade/sim titles so everyone has a shot at it. Bear in mind, third party mod cars and tracks are not allowed.

Here's a link to this weeks challenge in r/simracing

https://old.reddit.com/r/simracing/c...ber_17th_2018/

And here are the rules and guidelines

That's why I love the new Time Attack Competitions in iRacing Beta UI. I believe they've always been there, but they are more pronounced in the Beta UI. I don't have the time nor the desire to dedicate to league racing.

Bah! Adult life-isms suck!

The iRacing time attack sessions are cool and all. But you're limited to racing people on iRacing only. This pits you against people in a lot of different games/sims so there's more competition to be had.

New lap challenges are up, and man there's some good combos this week!

Hell Yes!!! Hopefully it has VR support like the first one did. Still the most intense VR experience I've had to date. Such a great damn game!

It is not being well received over at r/simracing. Jimmy Broadbent (simracer on YT) actually abaondoned his live stream yesterday and switched to Mudrunner if that tells you anything. Feels like SMS (the team behind PC1 and PC2) made an off road game.

Hell yes at Dirt Rally 2.0! I hope the physics are realistic and not arcadey like what I've heard about Dirt 4.

Now I wanna hop on and play Dirt Rally right now!

What? How long have you had that damn thing now? Yeah, that was bullshit for sure. They haven't confirmed VR support yet for 2.0, and I'm getting that sinking Dirt 4 feeling about it.

LOL Yes, my '17 car came from the factory with a CD player. They still sell them in actual stores also. I don't use them, but just sayin'. No VR, no buy for me. I'm bad enough at sim racing as is, I don't need any extra handicaps by giving up the intuitiveness of VR racing.

That looks interesting. But, I really don't like the layout though. For flight sims it would rock, but I think normal motion rigs would be better for sim racing. Can't have it all I guess, at least not yet.

Have any of you guys played this? It's called Automation - The Car Company Tycoon Game. What's cool about it to me is that you can build the engines.

I hadn't seen that one Tim. But this got posted on Reddit a couple weeks ago, and it looks pretty cool. Supports VR and tracked motion controllers too.

I've had this for a few years, it was an early release at that point. Its a fun simulator for making odd engines and just experimenting. I did have a hard time spending lots of time on it as it was fairly dry and basic back when I was playing, though I imagine its changed quite a bit by now.
