iRacing needs to slow down and fix all the issues with what they have or it's going to turn into a shit show like the Pcars franchise. Too much stuff getting forgotten, or pushed aside to make new stuff.

They seem to have stop giving a shit about fixes because that doesn't generate money. New cars and tracks generate money and those have seemed to become their main focus. | |

Logitech G29 wheel and pedals set is on sale for $188 + free shipping for anybody looking for a starter sim setup. I will say I now personally avoid NewEgg after years of being a happy customer. I received a damaged shipment. They arranged the return and lost it in a warehouse. It took me 4 months of fighting via telephone and email to get my money back. It wasn't until I tweeted to a higher up at NewEgg that I got any response. Take that for what you will. https://slickdeals.net/f/13051192-lo...?src=frontpage |

It's expected with that league. Half of them can't drive for shit, and they pick the worst possible track/car combos I've ever seen. It amazes me that some of those guys get on a real track, terrifies me actually.

Sounds like a league where I could compete if I could avoid the destruction derby! This combines RC + Sim Racing + VR https://www.facebook.com/hkopencar/v...TQ1ODM0Mjg5NQ/ |

Yep, agreed on most counts Tim. But, you're really missing out on some of the most fun sim racing yet with the Pro 2 and Pro 4 trucks. We've laughed like school girls for days now, iRacing wisely made contact very lenient and part of it as it should be. SO MUCH DAMN FUN!!

I finally did something I've wanted to do for a very long time. Last night I ordered a sim rig. I've been sim racing off and on for 30 years now (gasp!) and I've always been sitting at my desk in an office chair. I think it's finally time to step up my game and put together a true sim cockpit. I'd picked up a Thrustmaster TX wheel base, T3PA PRO pedals, and a TH8A shifter about a year ago. These were welcome changes over the Logitech G25 I've used for the last 12 years or so. But last night I ordered a Sim Labs GT1 cockpit: I opted not to get the monitor mount because I think I have a solution that will let me use my triples in close proximity to the cockpit. If it doesn't work as planned I'll get the triple monitor mount from Sim Labs......or perhaps from someone else. I ordered the mount for the Fanatec handbrake mount from Sim Labs. The handbrake will be ordered soon. I will also order a cheapy reclining seat with sliders to mount to the cockpit. Probably something like one of these: The last thing I plan to order soon is a new shifter handle for when I play American Truck Simulator. I can't explain it, but I really like this game and this shifter has the necessary switches to easily and comfortably operate the 13 and 18 speed transmissions. By the way, the main driving force behind the idea of FINALLY getting a cockpit? When racing the new Lucas Oil trucks in iRacing, the frantic steering and shifting movements were moving my clamped wheel and shifter around too much. In addition, I kept pushing my desk chair away from my desk as I applied the brake and throttle! No idea why this wasn't such a problem with road racing! Now I can't wait to have a proper sim rig set up, but the painful part is I'll now have to wait at least 3 weeks for it to ship from Eurpoe! :( Last edited by Tommy R; 06-11-2019 at 08:58 AM. |

I'm gonna say it again Tommy, cheap racing seats are shit. I hate the one that I have, but maybe you'll have better luck than me. I also love ATS, but rather than buy one of those expensive shifters, I made my own mod for the TH8A for my HI/LO and splitter, and simply map my jake brake to a button on my wheel. Doesn't look as cool, but it was about $75 cheaper though. There are some cleaner looking versions on ebay, and you can look on thingverse and 3D print your housing and wire up your own like I did. All you need is a USB joystick controller that's like $10 on Amazon, a housing of some sort and a way to mount it, some toggle switches, and some soldering skills.
