I played some more Automobilista last night. I forget the name of the class, but it's the old, Chevy stock car looking vehicles. Those were fun to drive. I can't drive the Super Trucks to save my life. Rallying is also fun, but I wish there were more vehicle options. Is Assetto Corsa worth the purchase if I have Automobilista? Dirt Rally is/was also on sale and caught my eye. |

Dirt Rally, however, is pretty awesome and I think it's the best option for offroad racing. Only downside is no direct competition with others online. You can compare sector times with friends, but that's about it. I would do unspeakable things if someone were to release a GOOD Baja racing simulator or mod, but that just doesn't seem to exist.

i have to agree. save your money on AC. spend it on iRacing content and Dirt Rally. having tried them all, these are probly the only two i would own. and i agree on the baja sim. i would do some kickstarter funding for SURE. |

Good to know. Thanks guy. I was checking out the RaceRoom garage and I have to say I love the Monzas. I know I shouldn't, but I do. |

I bought Dirt Rally this morning. For those that want it Indiegala has it on sale for $23.99 for a Steam key. I kept getting errors while checking out last night, but I emailed them and had a response this morning. I was able to purchase it and I received the Steam key instantly via email. I started the download before I left for work this morning just to make sure the key was legit. So tonight I'll be getting dirty.

i had the same findings with the monza. loved the looks, but didnt car for the handling. but my guess is its probly pretty accurate for 70s handling/tire technology. but i didnt care for it either. the "greenwood" corvette from the same era was about the same. |

well last night i picked up the GT3 Merc. Steve praised it and the CF guys did too. only ran 2-3 laps with it last night but was really impressed, had almost an arcade amount of grip. it was definatly point and shoot. no struggle with understeer or grip either. seemed to have unlimited. the cockpit engine sounds arent quite as good as id hoped after hearing the exterior exhaust note. I may run it instead of the Audi in the CF GT3 series. but ill make some more laps before i decide. |

i was disappointed to see it didnt have individual gear adjust-ablility. only standard and long pre determined gear sets. but maybe all the gt3s are that way, i dont remember.

I played Dirt Rally for about an hour tonight. Awesome!!! I'm glad you guys recommended that and I'm glad I purchased it. Dirt Showdown is nowhere near as good as dirt and really not a sim, but it's free right now. Here's the link for those that are interested: https://slickdeals.net/f/9661276-pc-...wdown-for-free SpinTires is $7.49 right now. Get it if you don't already have it! https://www.humblebundle.com/store/spintires Sorry, not trying to spam the thread, but just trying to give you guys the heads up on some great deals. Dirt showdown is pure crap for sure. And I disagree about AC, it is firmly in the sim category. They physics and FFB might be different from say iRacing, but it's a long ways from arcade racers such as Forza, Grid, or Need for Speed. For offline racing, I enjoy AC quite a bit. Tweaking the FFB using LUTgenerator, wheelcheck, and FFBclip makes it feel a lot better, and provides linear FFB similar to iRacing.

AC is definitely not arcade-y like those games. I just meant it felt more game-ish than sim-ish to me. Maybe I could spend more time tweaking things, but it just felt too easy.

any interest in RC sim racing? ive looked into this before and sorta been looking into it again. VRC Pro https://www.vrcworld.com/ VRC PRO on Steam This guy does a pretty good job of showing all the details of the game i cant say that the on road stuff really interests me that much, but i dig the offroad 1/8 buggys and SC trucks looks like theyve added rally x too, although they dont looks like they handle quite as realistic as the ones above. and appear to be based of the traxxas/Associated rally cars that are just SC trucks with car bodies. not scale. you can buy this USB dongle that plugs into your/any receiver and use any radio you want to race they have real world tracks including (former) Mike Hobby shop from Carrolton Texas you can build and setup your cars from scratch. they also have drifting alot of places say they have a free to play version but i cant find it. steam shows $45 Thoughts? |

skiped last week. too much going on. will start again tommorrow. i also noticed on iRacing at the top right of the setup screen there is a "weight penatly" box. we may experiement with that this coming week to see if we can level the playing field a bit. any objections? |
