|  I have an opportunity to buy....
I have an opportunity to buy a like new rtr (non kiy build) wraith that has been ran just a few times with 1 2s 5000 lipo for $300 tomorrow, should o jump on it? The truck is bone stock minus the servo horn... My Delima... I know i am going to do all of the essential upgrades like links, 27 t, new servo and so on... So I'm wondering if i should just buy this and add on or go ahead and buy a rig with most of this stuff on it Likely for around 400... Decisions Decisions... |

Don't buy a rig all done up and pay more.. Start with a base that you can upgrade as YOU see fit, not what someone else threw on it.

If you have access to the classifieds you could get a better deal if you wait it out a little I would think. There was a wraith chassis with tranny and interior on there today for $50. Pick up some axles for $80-$100 and ur almost into a roller. Chances are you wouldn't keep the stock electronics anyway.

Im assuming must of you guys that are replying own a wraith... I am wanting to do more crawling and trail riding with the rig ( no crazy 3 or 4s) what upgrades would you say are absolute necesarry. For that type of rig to make the wraith plenty capable... I'm going to try and price out the differences...

Pass. Add another $100-$150 and buy a used wraith with lots of top notch parts. Your only saving $50 over the tower price with a coupon. I would not buy used vs new for on $50 savings.

With the yeti out the wraith will drop in price. 200 is the highest I would pay for a wraith now and that's pushing it.

If you get a rtr it will need links right away. After those are replaced there are a few ways you could go. You can just drive it as is and replace things as they let go. You can leave it mostly stock and upgrade things for appearance. What I did was went right to brushless. I put an MMP and a tekin 13.5 redline. Driveshafts went right away with that motor. But after that it has been going good.

I say buy it, if u don't want the upgrades sell them buy what u want, price is fair, chances are upgrades will suit ;)

Well i picked it up... WOW this thing is clean, looks like just came out of the box. Bone stock other than the servo horn and springs. I've got a boat load of stuff on order. Im going to start a build thread soon... THANKS GUYS
