I'd love to get my hands on an old 88. There used to be a guy in SW New Hampshire that dealt in old Land Rovers, but he is no longer in business.

My friends first LR was a series one 88", about 2 feet left of the original frame when we was done welding new stuff in.
Drove it for a couple of years then his LR cars got larger and larger and the motors even hit V8 at a time too, and the last one he even got brand new and that was nice cuz by then i was tired of wrenching on Land Rovers all the time.


For the not knowing people the 88" refer to the wheelbase.

dude was a top speed BEAST on the wangan. i always wanted to run the aqualine (famous tunnel under Tokyo bay perfect for top speed runs no cops and cameras were easily defeated) but i decided it was best i not participate in criminal behavior while i was a "guest" in japan...

My father had a 740 sedan back in the late '80s. While not fast off the line at all, that car was like glass at high speeds. I got it up to around 110-120 on an open highway at 2am. Stupid teenager move, of course.

I was checking out an FJ40 build on here and it reminded me of how much I love FJs. They are beautiful off-roaders. The sad thing is that pristine and restored models for insane money. This one sold for $82,500.

Drooling over and Icon EB and these things popped up. Probably why the hike in EB costs.
