The odds of the shaft bushing being worn enough to cause run ability issues are slim if that's an actual weber not an empi knockoff.

Have you pulled the low speed jets out and cleaned them or just the high speed?

It's worth a shot to pull the carb off to check the gaskets especially if it has a 2 piece adapter. Although when those gaskets go it's usually low speed drivability that suffers.

Yeah baby

My neighbor gave me a metal saws all blade

and I cut the catalytic converter out

and I drove the truck it hit 55 miles per hour and did not sputter or back fire but I didn't keep that speed for long was on a country road and hit traffic so I had too slow down

and it was a 7:45 pm at night and a lot cooler then it is during the day

when I normally test the truck

so tomorrow I take it on a highway run when its hot, cause it was close to a 100' degrees when it crapped out the first time

the truck is so loud my neighbors were staring at when I passed there house on my test drive

its really loud especially at 45 to 55 miles per hour

it will screaming at 65 miles per hour, tomorrow I hope

going see if I can get the muffler welded up

tomorrow if it runs good

it just fell out after I smacked it with a hammer

there is a noise accordance here I think

I don't want to piss my neighbors off

so I'm done for the night

tomorrow is the test

Shine a flashlight in one end of thr converter and look into the other.

I can see thru it there is a screen in the middle

I was temped to take a air nozzle and use a rag and seal up one end at give a blast of air and see if I can feel any air pressure coming out, then flip it and do it the other way and see if I can feel air pressure

cause when it idling you can feel the exhaust but at 65 miles per hour it should be flowing good

but I cut it off and don't need it in my state

so I 'm over it

and on too does it do 65, 70, 75 miles an hour like before with no problems

there is section for a good 10 miles its 70 miles per hour speed limit coming in Reno NV

if your doing 75 to 80 miles per hour your barely keeping up with traffic until there is a cop then there almost a wreck cause people slowing down all at once, makes it obvious your hauling ass

and it takes a little while to get up to those speeds but once there she'll cruise right long and still power to pass

some times on hills I got to drop from 5th to 4th and then back to 5th

no it does not rattle

but does sound hollow a kind of tinny

like its full of exhaust soot

and every once in awhile it would rattle when driving but only every once in a while

yeah baby

did I mention

why I want the Toyota running

they just opened up and today was the first day of business

there 4 new delivery only dispensaries in Reno NV

and a walk in dispensary in Sparks NV

and that means they will be putting 1 or 2 in Carson City and 1 in Gardnerville

I got my card and I'm legal, the dispensaries are here

I should be ok, and will be all golden in a few weeks after there up and going

yeah baby girl scout cookies and a big glass of milk

and a nap

what XXXXXXXX joke

there is only one muffler shop in town and there closed on a Saturday

the busy day of the week and there XXXXXXX closed

Saturday is when most people that work during the week

get the cars serviced

they pissed me off

I know

I just wanted the exhaust welded up with a flange

so I can take it part if need and not have to keep cutting it

if I got take the exhaust off

Why not a clamp-on extension from the parts store? Temporarily until you can get it welded properly.

I didn't improve a XXXXXXXX thing

I wasted $12.00 on a 2'' flexible metal hose and some 2'' clamps, they didn't have 1 7/8'' is what I think I needed and they don't make them in that size, or I could not find one

I clamped it up and it leaks, but its better then nothing

the first speed run it did 45, 50, 55, 60 would not go to 65 miles and did sputter or backfire

this where I really do get it

the second speed run it would barely would go to 55 miles and hour and it sputtered and backfired, I let off it the throttle it stayed running but now

runs rough from 45 miles per hour to 50 miles per hour

I DID NOT FIX A XXXXXXXX thing

and now it runs rough at certain speeds that it wasn't running rough at before

and still can't drive it at high speed

My neighbor will follow me to the Marks shop and give me a ride back and same when I pick up the truck

and can't help me until Wednesday of this week coming up

but still not sure if the truck will make the 10 miles at 45 miles per hour running rough

I may have problems and would be screwed if it breaks down

I just don't know anymore

every thing I did has not improved a thing and I keep throwing money at it

and in over my head a XXXXXXXX usual

and now I really got no clue or Idea now

sure I could have it towed and dropped off at Marks shop and that would be expensive

But I still want to find the problem my self

cause now the XXXXXXXX thing is mocking me

and it pisses me off

I'm done I need to leave it alone for awhile

I 'm going to take my patch piece off the exhaust

cause the muffler maybe plugged up also

I can't check the muffler it cause it welded to the frame

I would have to cut the bracket not sure if I want to cut the muffler out

cause it probably going to cost me another

$500 for a muffler and section of pipe and 2 flanges

so I can unbolt and not have to keep cutting the exhaust apart to change the clutch

and then there is the carb it must be running so rich

that it plugged up the Catalytic and the muffler

in a couple of years

$500? Hell no, this is way better and cheaper than any muffler shop. Pro Flow Exhaust 22R/RE & 3VZ 2WD & 4WD 1985-1995 Pickup

Rich won't plug things up... Lean or a missfire will...
