A pile of lumber...

I needed to make a gate for my front porch to contain my dog. I was pretty pumped at how it turned out, as I usually suck at this sort of work.

Contained pooch.

Bought myself a new unused "old" machine.
Sold new in 1995 and has sat in the original shipping crate since then.
I've heard a few recent complaints of the newer Grizzly machines, and mostly the biggest being they just aren't made like they used to be.
Hoping the fact it's the older style design that it should be trouble free.

I'm hoping the one tell-tale sign is the new ones weigh 387lbs.,and this older one with exact same model number weighs 524lbs.
The old and new look identical, so hoping the weight difference means beef and better quality built steel.

Either way, should be a fun little toy and make whatever I could ever need.

Edit: second picture is today.
Finally made a permanent home for it in garage.
Now just a couple good lights and some tooling shelves

My Sniper EFI finally arrived about a week and a half ago. After a minor struggle with a rusted out sensor bung, I finally got it mostly installed, yesterday. Got a plug that doesn't want to come out of the intake manifold, where the coolant temp sensor needs to be. I'll get it this week, somehow, though. Little 401 still runs better than it ever has. It's too bad AMC never made it into the injection era.

You are going to absolutely love it.

The power gains are baffling, you wouldn't think just the efi would help as much as it does.
Mostly you're going to be amazed at the mpg increase. At least I was. It took things from 8-9, to a strong and constant 13

Thanks, I already love it! I was getting around 8, as well. Can't wait to see what I gain at the next fill-up.

Does this count? Got bored today so I came up with my own tool to get that silly plug out. RIP: 14x2mm tap:

Truck was already partially warm when I first got the sensor installed:

And after a few hours of driving around town, mostly casually

Very happy, now!!!

^ that's crazy, we have those same drives at work.

forgot to mention I had this for a week now. great quality! just had to tear down the whole front end to flip the ring gear so drive direction matched rear. no mention from SSD about it.
anyway yeah its the SSD plastic D44 centered rear. comes with EVERYTHING for less than a pair of VP lockouts.

also this means I will have a VP D60 OCP version 1 in the classifieds soon. comes with STRC diff cover and lockouts.

I got this slicer at JC Penny for 50% off ($60). I know it's not a Hobart commercial grade slicer, but it seems to be doing the job, so far.

The reviews for this were mixed. My guess is that the people that complained about gear wear, heat and motor burnouts probably didn't read the instructions where it says "Do not run for more than 10 minutes at a time. Turn off unit and allow to cool..." nor did they bother to get food grade grease for the drive gears.

For what I paid, it was worth taking a flier.

Awesome. I would love to have a slicer, no one west of the Mississippi can slice meat less than 1/8"

With this one, I've found that freezing the meat for about an hour before slicing can give you some nice, thin slices.

How do you like the Can-Am Mike? A co-worker just picked up a Slingshot. They're both made by Polaris, although the Slingshot is just like driving a sportscar.
