It's all good, taste is subjective. I'm a big fan of Vai also, I just universally hate lime green. Also, that pic would likely be around the time I bought my first guitar. LOL |

SSD Wraith Bent Steering link with Long Rod ends (one trimmed down and needs a bit more trimming to be the right width) for my Ryft. This will give the clearance needed to get full turning motion to the right. My stock link is hitting the diff cover before the steering gets to its limits and hits the Stops build into the knuckles | |

RCAWD Shocks made for the Redcat Gen8s. 7075 uppers 6061 the rest. 102mm eye to eye. 3.5mm shock shafts. Issue is the spring perch and bottom end don't slide together. there is a recess, but they missed the mark a bit. No issues. I put the Treal Lower spring perches on. Treal 62g Portal covers for the RC Gen8. Aluminum portal covers in black (no names) for the front of the RC G8 Needed to add a bit more rear weight to the G8. Also have a Metal Bumper for the front, but may buy the unit made for the G8. Also looking at a rear bumper for it. though I'll probably use the one I have. |

In a matter of speaking, this isn't exactly my "latest purchase"...I ordered these a couple weeks ago. The Raybrig NSX was delivered last Tuesday, and the AMG GT3 was delivered today, but I wanted to post a single post/photo showing both, so had to wait until today. Long story, short version: Step-dad had RC boat 35 (or so) years ago, back when he was my scoutmaster. I bought him a 2WD Slash for Father's Day 2019 (which he's done some upgrades on, incl the LCG chassis), and a ProBoat Recoil 17 last year. He thinks he's ready to build a kit, but he's not 100% certain he's 'capable'...so, that's where these two kits come into play. When I make my annual Thanksgiving week to (10 days) to Vegas, to visit mom & step-dad, I'll be bringing both kits, so that we can build them together. The AMG GT3 will be his (of his top 3 choices, it was #1), while the NSX is for me (it was his #3), building them side-by-side. If he runs into any problems, I'll be there to help. For anyone reading this (who happens to have a child, parent, super-close friend, etc, who already has some RTR RCs, and wants to build a kit), I think the Tamiya kits are THE BEST way to (literally) "share" the experience - they're simple enough for anyone to put together, yet 'difficult' enough to be a TRUE kit (ie. not a "some assembly required" (so-called) 'kit'), and also inexpensive enough that anyone should be able to afford two, so that you can build them TOGETHER. Anyone can give a kit as a gift...but, sharing the building experience, that makes it "better". Thanks to Mark Santa Maria, who, through the idea of his Slash RC Builders Camp, gave me the idea to do this. Share the builder's experience with someone - buy two (of the same) kits, and build them together. ~ More peace, love, and kindness would make the world a much better place |

Demko AD20.5 Shark Lock w/Shark Foot plain-edge blade style... The Demko brothers were designing new overbuilt lock types and also the knives built around them for Cold Steel previously - now that Cold Steel has undergone some changes in ownership they have struck out on their own with another all-new lock design. Completely concealed spring, unbelievably fidget-friendly, and feels like it will take on any cutting tasks suited for a just under 3" sharpened edge. They did make a previous small run of Made in the USA models (in Wampum, PA!) and those are a pretty penny - but even so, this first run of Taiwan-made models in a more modest steel (AUS10A) also sold out extremely quickly, I count myself very lucky to score this one, which I'll be using as my daily carry, and my Hogue Deka will become my dressy knife... As soon as Flytanium releases their handle scales for these, I'll be snapping up a set - not sure what material yet, it will depend on what patterns they come out with. Pardon the crappy setting and photograph, it's been a VERY long day! |

Ok...I know...I purchased two other Tamiya TT-02 kits recently (Raybrig NSX Concept & Mercedes-AMG GT3) for my step-dad, and I, to build over Thanksgiving week. However, in looking over the build manual, and seeing how 'different' the build is (especially compared to the TLR, XRAY, Axial, etc kits I've built in the past), I thought it might be a "smart" idea to build a box-stock kit (ok, not 100% 'stock', as I will be using the hex screw kit from RC Screwz) in advance, to completely familiarize myself with not only how the kit goes together, but also the 'organization' of the manual. Once it's together, I'm going to sell it, along with everything it came with, including the stock electronics, and all 'extra' hex screws included in the RC Screwz kit...with one exception - I'll be keeping the Supra body...and I'll be selling it at (essentially) my cost. NOTE: No, this is NOT me putting it up for sale (as I'm well aware this thread is NOT the 'classifieds' section)...this is just me mentioning that, upon completion of the kit (which I'm only building to "gain knowledge, and understanding, of how a Tamiya kit is put together"), I will be selling it. But, before it can become someone else's "latest purchase", it is, as of this moment, MY "latest purchase". Now...where did I put those two RC Screwz kits? And, before I forget, I need to order another one. ~ More peace, love, and kindness would make the world a much better place |
