Long answer is i raced motorX from age 6 to 19, Desert raced from 11-31 with non race stints of ATC 250R's, Quads (Banshees) from 8 till 34yo and Dual sported with XR400 and XR600's. Left dirt and rode Harleys, GXR's, VFR's, CB500 and Stupid 750 Virago and Shadows. So, i had a little experience with 2-4 wheels. Had a back injury a few years ago that prevented me from getting back on 2 wheel SS street bikes. Wanted a Ducati Hypermotard, MV Agusta Brutale or Yamaha FZ09 until i test rode them. Mind vs body sealed that choice. I thought the Spyder would be an easy transition back in since it is catered to old fogies who crave comfort.

Short answer is i have been very busy to put a lot of miles on it with only about 500 and i FAWKIN love it. Very Very Very comfortable, Fast enough for me considering it's weight. With some body English that i learned from Tree and 4 wheelers it is damn scary how well it corners. Coming from owning my SVT Focus go kart the handling is quit impressive. Not the slightest over or under-steer. It just rails through the corners. I still try to reve match and grab the front brake form time to time. The brakes are painful. 4 pot Brembos in front and 2 pot in the rear. Zero fade even spirited through the mountains. I have a new camera and sound set up i need to tinker with over the next few weeks and will post a vid of that.

Coming from 2 wheels and especially the HD Diehards i get the whole hatred toward Spyders or Trikes. There not motorcycles meeeehhh! For me i could give a rip if you ride a Vespa, Grom or a 1299 Super L as long as you are picking the bugs out of your teeth from the smile it produces.

I got my Spyder with 2400mi for $8k which is about $4k below what they go for. I couldn't pass it up.

I would like to try the Slingshot someday. Looks insanely good from the front with a Goofy look out back but the performance is undeniable.

Hope that answers your Q?

Similar issues here, have problems with my knees. Rode 2 wheeled motorcycles for years, loved my Harley's and Triumphs, but it got to a point that I had problems supporting the Harley at stops, traded it in for a Suzuki trike. Shaft drive, water cooled, fuel injected, loved it. Would start in 40 degree temps when the Harley would have been put away already. Finally lost my nerve to ride when some idiot on a cell phone almost hit me head on. The only complaint I had with the trike, (2 rear wheels), was turning. On a 2 wheeler, you lean into the turns, on this style trike, you still lean into the curve, but the trike wants to go to the outside of the curve, you know what I'm talking about, you've had 3 & 4 wheelers. I haven't ridden the Spyder, but every owner I know swears it's the best thing on 3 wheels.

The Slingshot is goofy looking, and for me, too low to the ground. I have a hard enough time getting into a car that is low

Bid on a eBaymotors auction last Wednesday, won it that night. Lost my job on Friday morning. Picked up the Jerp on Saturday morning, it's been keeping me busy while I figure out what to do next.

As promised this is what now hold my 26650 battery above.

Convoy BD06 - 1000 lumens to make sure you dont loose your way in the darkness.
This one will be a permanent fixture in my car, wired into a 1A outlet from my USB power grid.

Nice score! Are those servo wire crimping pliers?

Stop wasting your money on Associated Green Slime. Get Noleen SF3. Same stuff, different package, and you get a lot more for your money!

Picked up a TaoTronics CD06 dash cam now that I'm on the road a lot for work. I've had too many close calls. Got it all installed this evening, and couldn't be happier for the money.

I need a dash cam. Please keep us updated on how you like this one, especially the video quality and the ability to read license plates in the light and dark. "thumbsup"

Footage is VERY good, I'd rank it just ever so slightly behind my $400 GoPro hero 3 black edition. You don't have as high of frame rates to pick from (720p 60fps, 1080p 30fps, 2k 30fps), but the video quality is amazing for the money. All dashcams struggle at night or in very low light, just a byproduct of small CMOS sensors. Here's some sample footage from late Saturday evening post install showing the crowds here for the appoceclipse.

Re: Pics of your latest purchase

You can never have too many dashcams, i am a tester for a few brands and at any time have at least 5 in my car.
I also do some testing on action cameras, also handy for filming the little 4 x 4 adventures.

If you want to nerd up ( and you have to due to a large and confusing market ) then head on over to dashcamtalk.com the largest international dashcam forum.
https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/
you will find some pretty nice people over there just like in here, and just like in here a wealth of information.
